Do you ever heard CBU and CKD?
CBU is stand for completely built up and CKD is completely knocked down. The terms are belongs to the motoring sector.

A car that imported as a complete car called CBU. While CKD is a complete parts of a car is imported to be assembled locally.

Let make it easy to understand. Naza corporation for example get the approve from Kia Motors from Korea to assemble their model Kia Carnival at Naza's assemble plant. Naza converted the emblem and named it as Naza Ria.

Before this, a large family need to spend almost RM140k to get a comfortable CBU unit of Kia Carnival. In 2004, Naza introduce a CKD model of Kia Carnival named Naza Ria for just RM96k.

Nowadays, there are a lot of CKD unit grow in Malaysia. Price of a CKD unit is more cheaper than a CBU one. Maybe the CBU unit is win in terms of quality. But certain model of CBU is not suitable with Malaysia. For example, a unit of Mercedes Benz fully imported from Germen include some sort of heating element in the car that is not suitable with our country.

Dreaming for a reconditioning BMW 318i...=)

Petronas Twin Towers

The 88-storey PETRONAS Twin Towers is located at the North-west corner of the 100-acre development, the Towers standing majestically at 452 metres have been acknowledged by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat as the tallest buildings in the world.

The design, created by renowned architect, Cesar Pelli & Associates of the USA was selected through an international design competition held in 1991.

The floor plate of the Towers is based on geometric patterns common in architecture of Islamic heritage. It is composed of two rotated and super imposed squares with small circular infill around the edges. The exterior of the PETRONAS Twin Towers is organised in horizontal ribbons of vision glass and stainless steel which glint and shimmer in the sun. The design of the buildings also incorporates set-back at level 60, 73, 82, 84 and 88. Attached to each Tower is the 44-storey side tower or annexe, which provides an architectural balance to the slender profile of the main Tower. These coreless annexes also provide additional office space.

The Like the exterior design, the interior design patterns and materials used also reflect the national identity of Malaysia. The Towers' entrance lobbies are showcase of the country's cultural heritage, incorporating contemporary Malaysian motifs adapted from traditional handicrafts such as 'songket' and timber carvings while the floor design has been laid in a popular 'mengkuang' weave mat design.

A 58.4 metre sky bridge at levels 41 and 42 links the Twin Towers. The unique double-deck sky bridge stands 170 metres above street level with its arch support forming a symbolic gateway to the city centre.

The sky bridge is opened to visitors between 8.30am - 7.00pm every Tuesday to Sunday

STOP MAKING EXCUSES FOR YOURSELF...

One day when was walking to the class,i hear comments like this from her:"Hani,I saw this guy yesterday and he was so cute.He smiled at me,and I would have loved to have smiled back at him or said hello, but I was all sweaty because I have a bad hair and bad cloth that time.".Every part of that statement following the "but" is nothing more than an excuses.

When you think of it that way, why would you ever make another excuse for that incident. You should never let be the fact that you are not feeling your best be an excuse for not responding, because the fact is that they are nothing more than excuses.

In fact,if you put a blank after the "but" in that sentense then I could fill it in with at least one hundred different excuses. Life is about taking advantage of opportunities every single day.Stop making excuses, because all the "reasons" you have for not interacting just your excuses.

Stop judging yourself so much, and start accepting that others think about you at the moment.Stop analzing and start feeling beautiful person....

HAPPY TRYING!!!!!!!

Malaysian food

Malaysian Food is not one particular distinction of food but a culinary diversity originating from it's multi-ethnic population of Malay, Indian, Eurasian, Chinese, Nyonya and the Indigenous peoples of Borneo.

This is my favourite food is 'nasi lemak':Coconut-flavored Rice Meal -is rice cooked in coconut milk made aromatic with pandan leaves [screwpine leaves]. It is typically served with Sambal Ikan Bilis - fried dried anchovies cooked in a dry sambal sauce, and garnished with cucumber slices, hard boiled egg and roasted peanuts. Traditionally packaged in a banana leaf, it is usually eaten as hearty breakfast fare.

Reduce Stress

Easier said than done, stress busters come in many forms. Some techniques recommended by experts are to think positive thoughts. Spend 30 minutes a day doing something you like. (i.e.,Soak in a hot tub; walk on the beach or in a park; read a good book; visit a friend;listen to soothing music; watch a funny movie. Get a massage, a facial or a haircut. Meditate. Count to ten before losing your temper or getting aggravated. Avoid difficult people when possible. Thought for the day: When seeing red, think pink clouds….then float on them.

Life in Abundance

Life is the most incredible gift we have, and can ever have. Most of the time we judge the quality of our lives by the circumstances of our current situation. Well, not all the time, things can go well.

I once heard someone say, “Yes, a lot of bad things can happen in our lives, but at the same time, a lot of good can happen too”. For e.g, did we invent the light bulb? The television? the airplane? Etc. But we are benefiting the blessings of what our forefathers have sown. True, we may have had bad experiences that may have affected our lives; life is not fair, but God is.

I believe life comes from God and he has purposed it to be at its fullest whatever the circumstances. I have seen people with broken hearts mended, past hurts healed and relationships restored by just entering into the throne room of God in prayer.

Attitude

I recently read a book on the A-Z on happiness. The first chapter starts with the word “Attitude”. I found this to be the most powerful element and catalyst for success in anyone’s life, be it relational, career, wealth, ambition, goals etc.

When we wake up everyday, what is out attitude? Our life is determined by the way we see our world and not the current circumstances of how our world is. We make our tomorrow with our creative ability that starts with our attitude.

I have found success in everything that I have tried my hands on, even if I don’t get what I want. I have learned the secret of having the right attitude.

A recent survey was taken and a few of the comments of married women of how they view their husbands are as follows; not motivated, gives up easily, gets discouraged easily etc.

That is sad? Do we need external stimuli to motivate us? The world will always have its fair share of problems, but are we going to succumb to it or rise above it? One of my favorite animals in the animal kingdom of the air is the Eagle. An eagle does not fight the storm but embraces it by rising above it and soaring on high.

Electric car engine...
The car engine system consists electric and fuel engines that uses a switch system not a plug-in system. A system plug-in means that the electric engine and fuel engine are use in the same time in most cars. But, in this car if the driver uses the electric engine ,only the electric engine will function .The engine is divided into 2 parts that is electric parts end fuel parts. So, the driver can choose whether he wants use the electric parts or fuel parts. The electric parts of MEV consist of electric motor, controller and also rechargeable batteries. The battery tray is installed on the floor of the car. Fifty 12-volt lead-acid batteries are placed in the battery tray(two sets of 25 to create 300 volt DC).Electric motor added to power things that use to get their power from the engine is the water pump, power steering pump air conditioner. The charger is added so that the batteries could be recharged. This particular car actually has two charging system-one from the normal 120 volt or 240 volt wall outlet and the other from a magma-change inductive charging paddle. The controller draws power from the batteries and deliver it to the motor. The accelerator pedal is hooked to a pair of potentiometer and this potentiometers provide the signal that tells the controller how much power it is supposed to deliver. The controller can deliver zero power when the car is stationary and full power when the drivers floor the accelerator or any power level in between.

What is worm...
In a computer, a worm is a self-replicating virus that does not alter files but resides in active memory and duplicates itself. Worms use parts of an operating system that are automatic and usually invisible to the user. It is common for worms to be noticed only when theiruncontrolled replication consumes system resources, slowing orhalting other tasks.

virus.......
In computers, a virus is a program or programming code that replicates by being copied or initiating its copying to another program, computer boot sector or document. Viruses can be transmitted as attachments to an e-mail note or in a downloaded file, or be present on a diskette or CD. The immediate source of the e-mail note, downloaded file, or diskette you've received is usually unaware that it contains a virus. Some viruses wreak their effect as soon as their code is executed; other viruses lie dormant until circumstances cause their code to be executed by the computer. Some viruses are benign or playful in intent and effect ("Happy Birthday, Ludwig!") and some can be quite harmful, erasing data or causing your hard disk to require reformatting. A virus that replicates itself by resending itself as an e-mail attachment or as part of a network message is known as a worm.

Ayat Ayat Cinta is a beautifully portrayed Islamic love story – a tale of a virtuous Muslim protagonist who overcomes all obstacles of life maintaining pure ideals.

Last Friday night, Tv3 hightlight this movie to fill the friday night movie slot. I heard my friends talking about it. Actually I already have the movie in my laptop that I take from my sister last the Hari Raya holiday, But I still not watching it. So I decided to watch it that night by the scren of my laptop.

What makes me very touch from the movie, where Aisha, the wife of Fahri willing to ask her husband to marry Maria that need Fahri to continue her life.

Here, I include the synopsis from the story...

Fahri bin Abdillah is a poor, intelligent student who wins a scholarship to complete his graduate degree at Egypt's esteemed Al Azhar University. Very disciplined and dedicated by nature, Fahri embraces his life in Cairo, completing his studies and translation of religious books with full enthusiasm, exactly according to pre-determined targets.

Only one goal is left unattempted: the pursuit of marriage.

For Fahri is innocent and pure, and doesn't believe in the concept of relationships prior to marriage. He is inarticulate and shy around women. All his life, only two women have been close to him – his mother and grandmother.

Life changes drastically in Egypt for he suddenly finds himself surrounded by four beautiful, distinctly different women.

Maria Girgis, a shy, open-minded Coptic-Christian neighbor who is attracted to the teachings of the Holy Al Quran, finds herself falling in love with Fahri (a fact she only reveals to her diary).

Nurul, a student at Al Azhar like Fahri, is the Muslim daughter of a renowned Indonesian cleric. Fahri feels unworthy of her and thus ignores his feelings for her, leaving her confused and guessing.

Noura, an abused Egyptian neighbor, develops strong romantic feelings for Fahri, who in turn simply sympathizes with her situation. His romantic rejection destroys her and eventually leads to a false accusation of rape.

Aisha, a German Turkish student in Cairo haunts Fahri with her beautiful eyes. Following an incident on the metro where Fahri defends her against narrow minded bigoted Muslims, both immediately develop feelings for each other.

As the story unravels, the protagonist makes the audience face the daunting decisions he himself faces, and forces us to marvel at his undying loyalty to the true ideals of Islam as he ultimately makes the choice of a lifetime.

What is a tension headache?

Most headaches are tension headaches. These headaches tend to happen again and again, especially if you are under stress. They are not usually a sign of something serious. But they can be very painful and hard to live with.
What causes tension headaches?.
Doctors also don't know for sure what causes tension headaches. Experts once thought that tension or spasms in the muscles of your neck, face, and head played a role. Now they think a change in brain chemicals may also be a cause.
The example of the symptoms are
Symptoms of tension headaches include:

* A headache that is constant, not throbbing. You usually feel the pain or pressure on both sides of your head.
* Pressure that makes you feel like your head is in a vise.
* Aching pain at your temples or the back of your head and neck.

PRODUCT PRESENTATION

First at all,let me annouce that we have to present about our chosen product to the public starting on 13 Oct.For that last semester project,i can conclude that thats project bring us a lot of benefit that actuaaly we did not see.If we sit and think about this project for a while, we can get and know that a lot of a good thing will achieve.

The product presentation is like a product exhibition as we all see as usual.A lot of unexpect people will come to our booth and see our product. Haere, we can see that the comunication occur between us and them. It is a little bit help us to comunicate with the public.
We also will learn on how to be a friendly person on that day..It is because to present and explain our product to them,we have to be a friendly presenter to make them not being shy person to ask if they did not understand about the product.

Besides that, the benefit that we will not see is the cooperation that exist between our groupmate. For this project,we have to discuss with our groupmate for how to we want to make and decorate our booth,.Before this i am not know this guy and this girl..so,with this project, i know whats her and his name..for me,it is a good benefit i think..

The conclude is, we have to take this project as a class activity and not as a homework.. And lastly i hope our group and also others group will success with their booth that day....:)

The Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphin (Tursiops aduncus) is a species of Bottlenose Dolphin. The Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphin grows to 2.6 metres (8.5 ft) long, and weigh up to 230 kilograms (510 lb). It lives in the waters around India, northern Australia, South China, the Red Sea, and the eastern coast of Africa. Its back is dark-grey and belly is lighter grey or nearly white with grey spots.

Until 1998, all Bottlenose Dolphins were considered members of the single species T. truncatus. In that year, the Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphin was recognized as a separate species. The Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphin is generally smaller than the Common Bottlenose Dolphin, has a proportionately longer rostrum, and has spots on its belly and lower sides. The Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphin also has more teeth than the Common Bottlenose Dolphin — 23 to 29 teeth on each side of each jaw for the Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphin, compared to 21 to 24 for the Common Bottlenose Dolphin. There is evidence that the Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphin may actually be more closely related to certain dolphin species in the genera Stenella and Delphinus, especially the Atlantic Spotted Dolphin (S. frontalis), than it is to the Common Bottlenose Dolphin.
Much of the old scientific data in the field combine data about the Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphin and the Common Bottlenose Dolphin into a single group, making it effectively useless in determining the structural differences between the two species. The IUCN lists both species as data deficient in their Red List of endangered species because of this issue.

Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphins live in groups that can number in the hundreds, but groups of 5 to 15 dolphins are most common. In some parts of their range they associate with the Common Bottlenose Dolphin. It also associates with other dolphin species, such as the humpback dolphin.

The Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphin has a peak mating and calving season in spring and summer, although mating and calving occur throughout the year in some regions. Gestation period is about 12 months. Calves are between 0.84 and 1.5 metres (2.8 and 4.9 ft) long, and weigh between 9 and 21 kilograms (20 and 46 lb). The calves are weaned between 1.5 and 2 years, but can remain with their mother for up to 5 years. The interbirth interval for females is typically 4 to 6 years.

In some parts of its range, the Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphin is subject to predation by sharks.[5] The Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphin can live more than 40 years.

Angkor Wat (or Angkor Vat), is a temple complex at Angkor, Cambodia, built for King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century as his state temple and capital city. As the best-preserved temple at the site, it is the only one to have remained a significant religious centre since its foundation—first Hindu, dedicated to Vishnu, then Buddhist. The temple is the epitome of the high classical style of Khmer architecture. It has become a symbol of Cambodia, appearing on its national flag, and it is the country's prime attraction for visitors.

Angkor Wat combines two basic plans of Khmer temple architecture: the temple mountain and the later galleried temple, based on early South Indian architecture, with key features such as the Jagati. It is designed to represent Mount Meru, home of the devas in Hindu mythology: within a moat and an outer wall 3.6 km (2.2 miles) long are three rectangular galleries, each raised above the next. At the centre of the temple stands a quincunx of towers. Unlike most Angkorian temples, Angkor Wat is oriented to the west; scholars are divided as to the significance of this. The temple is admired for the grandeur and harmony of the architecture, its extensive bas-reliefs and for the numerous devatas (guardian spirits) adorning its walls.

The modern name, Angkor Wat, in use by the 16th century,[1] means "City Temple": Angkor is a vernacular form of the word nokor which comes from the Sanskrit word nagara (capital), while wat is the Khmer word for temple. Prior to this time the temple was known as Preah Pisnulok, after the posthumous title of its founder, Suryavarman

assalamualaikum...
final examination just around the corner.so,i want share some tips before we meet final examination.
1. Start studying at least one week before the final exam. To ace your final exam, you must spend several hours studying, but this doesn’t mean studying all night before the final exam. This never seems to work anyway. But, if you spend an hour each night for a week before the final exam, you’ll slowly take in the information and remember it.

2. Read all of the assignments when they are assigned. Reading ten chapters worth of material the week before the final exam will not work. In order to ace your final exam, you must read the material when your instructor assigns it. When you try to read all that material in one week, before your final exam, it’s simply too much to take in. You must be able to remember this material in order to ace your final exam.

3. Memorize important information. If you pay attention in class, your instructor will, more than likely, mention pieces of information and say that they will be on the final exam. Write these down and memorize them. If you want to ace your final exam, pay attention to any piece of information that seems important. When reading a chapter in your textbook, highlight anything that even sounds like it might be on the text. The final exam will, more than likely, be just like the midterm you took earlier in the semester.
4. Think about the midterm exam. What was the layout of that exam? Most instructors will use the same layout for the final exam. If you know that the test was a fill in the blank type test, you’ll know to memorize important dates, names, and vocabulary words. If the layout is multiple choice you should study important facts.

5. Listen to your instructor. Most instructors will tell you exactly what the final exam will be, if you just listen. Your instructor wants you to ace your final exam and will help you. An instructor may tell you important pieces of information that you should write down, they may tell you the layout of the final exam, and they may even give you a study sheet of the questions that will be asked.

6. Make your own study sheet. After you have written down important facts, names, vocabulary words, pieces of information your instructor gave you, and anything you highlighted in your textbook you should make a study sheet of this material. This will make it much easier for you to study for and ace your final exam.

7. Have someone quiz you. After you have studied, ask a friend or family member to quiz you. As they ask you questions, have them highlight the information you didn’t remember. Then after you have studied some more, they can quiz you on the information you didn’t know or you could quiz yourself.

8. Quiz yourself. This may sound impossible, but it’s not. Take the information you didn’t know and write it down on a piece of paper. For example, if you missed vocabulary words, write down the words and then put the study sheet away. This will allow you to quiz yourself and see if you have memorized the information.

9. Talk with your instructor. If your instructor hasn’t given your class any idea of what will be on the final exam, just ask. Your instructor may be willing to tell you the layout, what to study, etc.

10. Write down dates. Nothing is worse than walking into class and finding out today is the final exam. You may have been studying, but still not completely ready. In order to ace your final exam, you must keep up with when the test will be given. This ensures that you will give yourself enough time to study and ace the final exam.
but the most important is as muslim we must work hard, pray and tawakal to Allah.
best of luck!!!!!!!!!!!

The culture of Ancient Egypt lived along the Nile river in Egypt from before the 5th millennium BC until the 4th Century AD. Ancient Egyptian society was based on farming the fertile Nile valley which flooded every year, enriching the soil with nutrients. The government of ancient Egypt, headed by the Pharaoh, was responsible for organizing farming efforts and collecting taxes for the state, which protected the country's borders and built grand monuments to the gods. The ancient Egyptian civilization effectively ended after the Roman domination, but the pyramids and colossal statues they left behind stand as testimony to the power of the pharaohs.

NASA has had many successful space missions and programs, including over 150 manned missions. Many of the notable manned missions were from the Apollo program, a sequence of missions to the Moon which included the achievement of the first man to walk on the Moon, during Apollo 11. The Space Shuttle program has also been a success,[citation needed] despite the loss of two of the Space Shuttles, Challenger and Columbia which resulted in the deaths of their entire crews. The Space Shuttles were able to dock with the space station Mir while it was operational, and are now able to dock with the International Space Station – a joint project of many space agencies. NASA's future plans for space exploration are with the Project Constellation.

There have been many unmanned NASA space missions as well, including at least one that visited each of the other seven planets in our Solar System, and four missions (Pioneer 10, Pioneer 11, Voyager 1, and Voyager 2) that have left our solar system. There has been much recent success with the missions to Mars, including the Mars Exploration Rovers, the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, and the Phoenix Mars Lander. NASA remains the only space agency to have launched space missions to the outer solar system beyond the asteroid belt.
Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter
Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter

The Cassini probe, launched in 1997 and in orbit around Saturn since mid-2004, is investigating Saturn and its inner satellites. With over twenty years in the making, Cassini-Huygens is an example of international cooperation between JPL-NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA).

Built entirely by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, California, NASA probes have been continually performing science at Mars since 1997, with at least two orbiters since 2001 and several Mars rovers. The orbiting Mars Odyssey and Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter will continue monitoring the geology and climate of the Red Planet, as well as searching for evidence of past or present water and life, as they have since 2001 and 2006, respectively. If the Mars Global Surveyor spacecraft's nine-year lifetime is typical, these probes will continue to advance our knowledge for years to come. The Mars Exploration Rovers Spirit and Opportunity have been traversing the surface of Mars at Gusev crater and Meridiani Planum since early 2004, and will continue to image and investigate those environments. They have both already operated over seventeen times longer than expected, and remain a promising part of NASA's future. Adding to this flotilla is the Phoenix Mars Lander, which executed a perfect powered touchdown in the northern latitudes of Mars on May 25, 2008 after a 10-month journey of more than 420 million miles.

MALAYSIA..

Malaysia is a country that consists of thirteen states and three federal territories in Southeast Asia with a total landmass of 329,847 square kilometres (127,355 sq mi). The capital city is Kuala Lumpur, while Putrajaya is the seat of the federal government. The population stands at over 25 million. The country is separated into two regions—Peninsular Malaysia and Malaysian Borneo—by the South China Sea. Malaysia borders Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei and the Philippines. The country is located near the equator and experiences a tropical climate. Malaysia's head of state is the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (conventionally referred to as 'the King' or 'the Agong') and the government is headed by a Prime Minister. The government is closely modeled after the Westminster parliamentary system.

Malaysia as a unified state did not exist until 1963. Previously, a set of colonies were established by the United Kingdom from the late-18th century, and the western half of modern Malaysia was composed of several separate kingdoms. This group of colonies was known as British Malaya until its dissolution in 1946, when it was reorganised as the Malayan Union. Due to widespread opposition, it was reorganised again as the Federation of Malaya in 1948 and later gained independence on 31 August 1957. Singapore, Sarawak, British North Borneo and the Federation of Malaya joined to form Malaysia on 16 September 1963. The early years of the new union were marred by an armed conflict with Indonesia and the expulsion of Singapore. The Southeast Asian nation experienced an economic boom and underwent rapid development during the late-20th century. With a GDP per capita standing at USD14,400, it has, from time to time, been considered a newly industrialised country. Because Malaysia is one of three countries that control the Strait of Malacca, international trade plays a large role in its economy. At one time, it was the largest producer of tin, rubber and palm oil in the world. Manufacturing has a large influence in the country's economy.

The Malays form the majority of the population. Some Malays are of Arab[citation needed] descent and there are sizable Chinese and Indian communities. Islam is the largest as well as the official religion of the federation. The Malay language is the official language. The Malay language was originally written in Pallava from India, the earliest known inscriptions in Malay were found in southern Sumatra and on the island of Bangka and date from 683-6 AD. They were written in an Indian script during the time of the kingdom of Srivijaya, but nowadays, the Roman alphabet (Rumi) is more often used.

Malaysia is a founding member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and participates in many international organisations such as the United Nations. As a former British colony, it is also a member of the Commonwealth of Nations. It is also a member of the Developing 8 Countries.

Motivate yourself to quit smoking

I know there are many reasons why people smokes and I also know there are many reason why you should quit smoking right now. Generally, we all know that smoking does not just cause major illness later in life such as causes cancer, heart diseases and strokes but it is affecting you right now. Did you realise that smoking makes you fat? Smokers weigh more than nonsmokers do because the smoke damages the tiny air sacs in the lungs, so a smoker gets out of breath more quickly, which makes it harder to exercise. Furthermore, smoking makes you more depressing, worsens your acne and lowers your brain level to functioning well. You can motivate yourself save the money you would spend on smokes. Did you know a pack a week comes to RM360 a year? Motivate yourself to use that cash to splurge on a hot new outfit.

The largest known prime number is the largest integer that is currently known to be a prime number.
Graph of number of digits in largest known prime by year, since the electronic computer. Note that the vertical scale is logarithmic.
Graph of number of digits in largest known prime by year, since the electronic computer. Note that the vertical scale is logarithmic.

It was proven by Euclid that there are infinitely many prime numbers; thus, there is always a prime greater than the largest known prime. Many mathematicians and hobbyists search for large prime numbers. There are several prizes offered by the Electronic Frontier Foundation for record primes.

Because the FFT implementation of the Lucas–Lehmer test for Mersenne numbers is faster than other known primality tests for other kinds of primes, many of the largest known primes are Mersenne primes. As of September 2008 there were eight Mersenne primes among the ten largest known primes. The last 14 record primes were Mersenne primes. Before that was a single non-Mersenne (improving the record by merely 37 digits in 1989), and 17 more Mersenne primes going back to 1952.

The use of electronic computers has accelerated the discoveries and found all records since 1951. The record passed one million digits in 1999, earning a $50,000 prize.

As of September 2008, the largest known prime was discovered by the distributed computing project Great Internet Mersenne Prime Search (GIMPS):

243,112,609 − 1.

This was found to be a prime number on August 23, 2008. This number is 12,978,189 digits long and is (chronologically) the 45th known Mersenne prime.

Its predecessor as largest known prime, 232,582,657 − 1, was first shown to be prime on September 4, 2006 by GIMPS also. GIMPS found the 11 latest records on ordinary computers operated by participants around the world.

Chickenpox is a highly contagious illness caused by primary infection with varicella zoster virus (VZV). It generally begins with conjunctival and catarrhal symptoms and then characteristic spots appearing in two or three waves, mainly on the body and head rather than the hands and becoming itchy raw pockmarks, small open sores which heal mostly without scarring.
Chickenpox has a 10-21 day incubation period and is spread easily through aerosolized droplets from the nasopharynx of ill individuals or through direct contact with secretions from the rash. Following primary infection there is usually lifelong protective immunity from further episodes of chickenpox.
Chickenpox is rarely fatal, although it is generally more severe in adults than in children. Pregnant women and those with a suppressed immune system are at highest risk of serious complications. The most common late complication of chicken pox is shingles, caused by reactivation of the varicella zoster virus decades after the initial episode of chickenpox.

I got one story. The title is sand and stone. This story tells about two friends were talking through the desert. During some point of the journey, they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face. The other one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand: "TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE." They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decide to take a bath. The one who had been slapped, got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him. After the friend recovered from from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone:"TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE." The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him, “After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you wrote on a stone, why??"

The other friend replied:"When someone hurts us, we should write it down in sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But, when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it."

Broken home
For the fifth article, the title is broken home. The article said, families are the bedrock of society. When families fall apart, society falls into social and cultural decline. Broken homes are not only the reason for so many social problems. They are also the reason for the incumbent economic difficulties we face as a culture. One of the most significant factors contributing to the breakdown of the family has been the steady rise of unwed births. If we fail to come to terms with the relationship between family structure and declining child well-being, then it will be increasing difficult to improve children’s life prospects. Broken home also because of stress from the society or both the husband and wife are too busy with their work in these modern days. In order to have a happy family, surely you need to spend more time with your family. Most of us today, living in city areas, the demand for material is high, therefore, we all need to be working hard, and especially those are not from rich family. So, to overcome this problem, we should spend more time with our family and sharing and solve all the problem together …’family first’ 

Friends...

In this world, everyone has a friend, nobody can live without friends. Friends are something precious in our entire life, they are like angels who will help you and guide you all the way through. Without them, you might feel lost and lonely. Do not underestimate the power of friendship, but how would you know whether they are your true friends?

There are billions of people in this world, there are good and bad, same as friends. Friends also got good and bad, if you mix with the good friends, you will automatically be good but if you mix with the bad friends, then you will turn as bad as they are. The kind of friends we made will influence our entire life so we must be careful when we make any new friends.

But what does a true friend means? In my opinion, even if you made many friends but that does not mean that all of them are your true friends. A true friend is someone you can trust with, they are loyal and trustworthy. They will never betray you or stab you from the back. They will never look down on you regardless of who you are or how you look like. Friends do not have to see each other everyday because they will always remember you in their heart no matter how far you are or how much you change. You will always have a little place deep down their heart. Try to understand your friends and this will make your bound between them closer and better. Friends must trust each other and should not tell lies to one another. The trust you had with them will only make your friendship bound tighter, nobody will be able to break that bound of yours. A true friend will never ask you to do anything bad, friends that ask you to do bad are not your true friends. They might run away after asking you to do something bad or put the blame on you. When your friends see you do anything bad, they will advise you, this is what called true friends. Nobody can replace the place you had in your friend's heart. Nothing is more important than friends and family so appreciate your friends will you still can.

last saturday i went to the tanglong festival..i attract to know about the chinese tea..so i go to search for it

Chinese tea consists of tea leaves which have been processed using methods inherited from China. According to popular legend, tea was discovered by Chinese Emperor Shennong in 2737 BC when a leaf from a Camilla sinensis tree fell into water the emperor was boiling. actually, not everyone agrees on the legend of the tea, but no one disputes that tea is deeply woven into the history and culture of China. The beverage is considered one of the seven necessities of Chinese life, along with firewood, rice, oil, salt, sauce and vinegar.

Most Chinese tea is consumed in China and is not exported. Green tea is the most popular type of tea used in China.

Other teas draw some of their characteristics from local growing conditions. The largest factor in the wide variations comes from differences in processing after the tea is harvested.

if you want to know more about the chinese tea you can just go through the wikipedia website.

Once You Start, It's Hard to Stop

Smoking is a hard habit to break because tobacco contains nicotine, which is highly addictive. Like heroin or other addictive drugs, the body and mind quickly become so used to the nicotine in cigarettes that a person needs to have it just to feel normal.People start smoking for a variety of different reasons. Some think it looks cool. Others start because their family members or friends smoke. Statistics show that about 9 out of 10 tobacco users start before they're 18 years old. Most adults who started smoking in their teens never expected to become addicted. That's why people say it's just so much easier to not start smoking at all.

'Budu'

Budu (Malay language) is a fish sauce and one of the best known fermented seafood products in Kelantan, Malaysia as well as Southern Thailand. It is traditionally made by mixing fish and salt in the range of ratio of 2:1 to 6:1 and allow to ferment for 140 to 200 days. It is used as a flavoring and is normally taken with fish, rice and raw vegetables.

It is similar to the patis in Philippines, ketjap-ikan in Indonesia, ngapi in Burma, nuoc mam in Vietnam, ishiru or shottsuru in Japan, colombo-cure in India and Pakistan, yeesu in China and aekjeot in Korea.

The fish product is the result of hydrolysis of fish and microbial proteases. The flavor and aroma of Budu are produced by the action of proteolytic microorganisms surviving during the fermentation process. Palm sugar and tamarind are usually added to promote the browning reaction occur and resulting in dark brown color. The ratio of fish to salt plays an important key in the final desired product. The different concentration of salt influences the microbial and enzymatic activity, resulting in different flavors. The microorganisms found during Budu production are generally classified as halophilic. The microorganisms play important roles in protein degradation and flavor-aroma development.

Kris(Keris)

The kris or keris is a distinctive, asymmetrical dagger indigenous to Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Southern Thailand and the southern Philippines. Both a weapon, and spiritual object, krisses are often considered to have an essence or presence, with some blades possessing good luck and others possessing bad.

The kris spread from the island of Java to many parts of the archipelago of Indonesia, such as Sumatra, Bali, Lombok, Sumbawa, South Sulawesi, Kalimantan, and to the Southeast Asian areas now known as Malaysia, Brunei, southern Philippines, southern Thailand, and Singapore.

Kris has a cranked hilt, which serves as a support for stabbing strike. At the same time it allows the strength of the wrist to add pressure on the blade while slashing and cutting. A kris has no special protection for the hand, except for the broad blade at the hilt, which offers minimal protection. In rare cases a kris may have its blade forged so the blade's axis lies at an angle to the hilt's axis. The intention is to get the blade automatically turning to slip past the ribs. This works poorly and makes the weapon less durable.[citation needed]

Krisses were worn every day and at special ceremonies, with heirloom blades being handed down through successive generations. Yearly cleanings, required for as part of the spirituality and mythology around the weapon, often leaves ancient blades worn and thin. In everyday life and at events, a man usually only wore one kris. In the Malay literature, Hikayat Hang Tuah, the warrior is depicted as wearing two keris, one short keris and one long keris. Women sometimes also wore krisses, though of a smaller size than a man's. In battle, a warrior carried three krisses: his own, one from his father-in-law, and one as a family heirloom. The other krisses served as parrying daggers. If the warrior didn't have another kris to parry with, he used the sheath. Krisses were often broken in battle and required repairs. A warrior's location determined what repair materials he had. It is quite usual to find a kris with fittings from several areas. For example, a kris may have a blade from Java, a hilt from Bali and a sheath from Madura.

In many parts of Malaysia and Indonesia, the kris was the choice weapon for execution. The specialized kris, called an executioner's kris, had a long, straight, slender blade. The condemned knelt before the executioner, who placed a wad of cotton or similar material on the subject's shoulder/clavicle area. The blade was thrust through the padding, piercing the subclavian artery and the heart. Upon withdrawal, the cotton wiped the blade clean. Death came within seconds.

'_Rafflesia_'

Rafflesia is a genus of parasitic flowering plants. It was discovered in the Indonesian rain forest by an Indonesian guide working for Dr. Joseph Arnold in 1818, and named after Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, the leader of the expedition. It contains approximately 26 species (including four incompletely characterized species as recognized by Meijer 1997), all found in southeastern Asia, on the Malay Peninsula, Borneo, Sumatra, and the Philippines. The plant has no stems, leaves or true roots. It is an endoparasite of vines in the genus Tetrastigma (Vitaceae), spreading its root-like haustoria inside the tissue of the vine. The only part of the plant that can be seen outside the host vine is the five-petaled flower. In some species, such as Rafflesia arnoldii, the flower may be over 100 cm in diameter, and weigh up to 10 kg. Even the smallest species, R. manillana, has 20 cm diameter flowers. The flowers look and smell like rotting meat, hence its local names which translate to "corpse flower" or "meat flower" (but see below). The vile smell that the flower gives off attracts insects such as carrion flies, which transport pollen from male to female flowers. Little is known about seed dispersal. However, tree shrews and other forest mammals apparently eat the fruits and disperse the seeds. Rafflesia is an official state flower of Sabah in Malaysia, as well as for the Surat Thani Province, Thailand.

The name "corpse flower" applied to Rafflesia is confusing because this common name also refers to the Titan Arum (Amorphophallus titanum) of the family Araceae. Moreover, because Amorphophallus has the world's largest unbranched inflorescence, it is sometimes mistakenly credited as having the world's largest flower. Both Rafflesia and Amorphophallus are flowering plants, but they are still distantly related. Rafflesia arnoldii has the largest single flower of any flowering plant, at least when one judges this by weight. Amorphophallus titanum has the largest unbranched inflorescence, while the Talipot palm (Corypha umbraculifera) forms the largest branched inflorescence, containing thousands of flowers; this plant is monocarpic, meaning that individuals die after flowering.

PENANG SECOND BRIGDE:

In August 2006, the Malaysian federal government unveiled a plan to build the Penang Second Bridge in the Ninth Malaysia Plan. In 12 November 2006, the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Penang Second Bridge was performed by Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato' Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

After months of soil survey work and test pilling work has been done, China Harbour Engineering Co Ltd and United Engineers Malaysia Berhad (UEM Group) announce that the project is on track for completion in 2011. Construction works was expected to begin in January 2008.

On April 2008, the government announced that the project will be delayed by 9 months due to land acquisition and design issue and also the rising costs of building materials. Newly elected Penang Chief Minister, Lim Guan Eng proposed a toll discount for any delays on the project and also express disappointment of the delay of the consturction.

On July 2008, Jelutong MP Jeff Ooi reported that the loan for the bridge risked being withdrawn if the shareholder agreement between UEM Builders Bhd and its joint-venture partner China Harbour Engineering Co Ltd is not inked by August 2008. It has been reported that there have been disagreements between the two parties on the apportionment of the cost of building the bridge although the issue should be resolved soon due to UEM having a variation on the price on its portion.

Agriculture stuffs

As we all know, the conventional way to get fish is by fishing, get fish from ocean, lake, river, shore, and sea.

But as world population increassed, thus the food supply must increase to feed the growing population. Moreover fish is important source for protein.

Thus the development of agriculure which is new and innovative way of breeding fish in a closed area of particular hydro-habitat.
It is like a chicken-farm, but its a fish-farm, where the fish is breed in a closed area in water.

This brand new way would enable fasten the growth of fish and the cultivation of algae which can help to feed other living-being the habitat.

Hibernation, why?

All living-being need energy to do all kind of activity, with high intensity activity, they require huge amount of energy to process and conduct it.
All this come from food we eaten, if we eat more calories, carbohydrate, protein and fats, mean more energy we gonna store and some more energy to process it.
It work when oxygen is used to burden the food and change it into small particle called glycogen.

But during the time of drought as in summer and the time of snowwy as in winter, theres no food supply thus, animal undergo hibernation.
Hibernation would enable to stay alive during those time until the suitable time for them. Thus all the energy are used at minimum capacity.

Do you know what is nuclear reaction?there are some imformation about it.

In nuclear physics, a nuclear reaction is the process in which two nuclei or nuclear particles collide to produce products different from the initial particles. In principle a reaction can involve more than two particles colliding, but because the probability of three or more nuclei to meet at the same time at the same place is much less than for two nuclei, such an event is exceptionally rare. While the transformation is spontaneous in the case of radioactive decay, it is initiated by a particle in the case of a nuclear reaction. If the particles collide and separate without changing, the process is called an elastic collision rather than a reaction.

Assalamualaikum. Today I have read about celebrating Merdeka (Malaysian independence) in a European Capital of Culture…
Celebration of Merdeka (Malaysian independence) in Liverpool in 2004 was bound up with the very kinds of essentialist conceptions and practices for which multiculturalism has received so much criticism. This resulted not only from official modes of framing cultural difference but also from the colonially-inflected plural society imaginings of Malaysian student sojourners in the city. Nonetheless, examination of two Merdeka events reveals that they also provided an opportunity for people with diverse ethno-cultural identities, geographical origins and extra-national connections to come together as a momentary 'community'. The resultant intercultural moments suggest ways in which transnational histories and geographies can extend multiculturalism beyond national(ist) enframings. These possibilities are cast in the paper as a contribution to multiculturalism's regeneration (rather than just more academic critique of the concept and associated programmes) in the face of resurgent assimilationism in Britain and elsewhere.

Effects of nicotine on hunger and eating in male and female smokers.

For both males and females, nicotine had no effect on self-reported hunger, but cigarette craving was decreased. Rather than being decreased, caloric intake during the meal was unexpectedlyincreased following nicotine compared with placebo. Cigarette craving increased after the meal, and this increase was unaffected by nicotine dose. There were virtually no differences between males and females in any effects of nicotine. These results indicate that nicotine may not acutely suppress appetite in fasting smokers and suggest that other actions of nicotine or smoking may account for the lower body weights of smokers.

Presentation Tips for Public Speaking...;)

Body language is important. Standing, walking or moving about with appropriate hand gesture or facial expression is preferred to sitting down or standing still with head down and reading from a prepared speech. Use audio-visual aids or props for enhancement if appropriate and necessary. Master the use of presentation software such as PowerPoint well before your presentation. Do not over-dazzle your audience with excessive use of animation, sound clips, or gaudy colors which are inappropriate for your topic. Do not torture your audience by putting a lengthy document in tiny print on an overhead and reading it out to them.

Speak with conviction as if you really believe in what you are saying. Persuade your audience effectively. The material you present orally should have the same ingredients as that which are required for a written research paper, i.e. a logical progression from INTRODUCTION (Thesis statement) to BODY (strong supporting arguments, accurate and up-to-date information) to CONCLUSION (re-state thesis, summary, and logical conclusion).

Do not read from notes for any extended length of time although it is quite acceptable to glance at your notes infrequently. Speak loudly and clearly. Sound confident. Do not mumble. If you made an error, correct it, and continue. No need to make excuses or apologize profusely.

Maintain sincere eye contact with your audience. Use the 3-second method, e.g. look straight into the eyes of a person in the audience for 3 seconds at a time. Have direct eye contact with a number of people in the audience, and every now and then glance at the whole audience while speaking. Use your eye contact to make everyone in your audience feel involved.

Speak to your audience, listen to their questions, respond to their reactions, adjust and adapt. If what you have prepared is obviously not getting across to your audience, change your strategy mid-stream if you are well prepared to do so. Remember that communication is the key to a successful presentation. If you are short of time, know what can be safely left out. If you have extra time, know what could be effectively added. Always be prepared for the unexpected.

Pause. Allow yourself and your audience a little time to reflect and think. Don't race through your presentation and leave your audience, as well as yourself, feeling out of breath.

Add humor whenever appropriate and possible. Keep audience interested throughout your entire presentation. Remember that an interesting speech makes time fly, but a boring speech is always too long to endure even if the presentation time is the same.

When using audio-visual aids to enhance your presentation, be sure all necessary equipment is set up and in good working order prior to the presentation. If possible, have an emergency backup system readily available. Check out the location ahead of time to ensure seating arrangements for audience, whiteboard, blackboard, lighting, location of projection screen, sound system, etc. are suitable for your presentation.

Have handouts ready and give them out at the appropriate time. Tell audience ahead of time that you will be giving out an outline of your presentation so that they will not waste time taking unnecessary notes during your presentation.

Know when to STOP talking. Use a timer or the microwave oven clock to time your presentation when preparing it at home. Just as you don't use unnecessary words in your written paper, you don't bore your audience with repetitious or unnecessary words in your oral presentation. To end your presentation, summarize your main points in the same way as you normally do in the CONCLUSION of a written paper. Remember, however, that there is a difference between spoken words appropriate for the ear and formally written words intended for reading. Terminate your presentation with an interesting remark or an appropriate punch line. Leave your listeners with a positive impression and a sense of completion. Do not belabor your closing remarks. Thank your audience and sit down.

Have the written portion of your assignment or report ready for your instructor if required.

The model, to be equipped with a four-cylinder Audi engine, producing as much as 220 horsepower and equipped with either a six-speed manual or the famous DSG gearbox, will feature acceleration time of well under four seconds. There may also be much more powerful model, featuring 300bhp concept car and even better dynamics. Like many other super-lightweight roadsters available, the KTM X-Bow will have no windshield but will be sold with a pair of specially designed helmets instead. The helmets will not provide the driver and a passenger with adequate crash protection, but will do to cover their owners from water and dust particles. The car will be mass produced next year with a target of 500 per year. I really hope to see one of it in Malaysia because it is such a cool car.

today i would like to share about tsunami.do you know tsunami causes?it happen with several importance causes.you can explore down here.

A tsunami can be generated when converging or destructive plate boundaries abruptly move and vertically displace the overlying water. It is very unlikely that they can form at divergent (constructive) or conservative plate boundaries. This is because constructive or conservative boundaries do not generally disturb the vertical displacement of the water column. Subduction zone related earthquakes generate the majority of all tsunamis.

A tsunami has a much smaller amplitude (wave height) offshore, and a very long wavelength (often hundreds of kilometers long), which is why they generally pass unnoticed at sea, forming only a slight swell usually about 300 mm above the normal sea surface. A tsunami can occur at any state of the tide and even at low tide will still inundate coastal areas if the incoming waves surge high enough.

On April 1, 1946 a Magnitude 7.8 (Richter Scale) earthquake occurred near the Aleutian Islands, Alaska. It generated a tsunami which inundated Hilo on the island of Hawai'i with a 14 m high surge. The area where the earthquake occurred is where the Pacific Ocean floor is subducting (or being pushed downwards) under Alaska.

Examples of tsunami being generated at locations away from convergent boundaries include Storegga during the Neolithic era, Grand Banks 1929, Papua New Guinea 1998 (Tappin, 2001). In the case of the Grand Banks and Papua New Guinea tsunamis an earthquake caused sediments to become unstable and subsequently fail. These slumped and as they flowed down slope a tsunami was generated. These tsunami did not travel transoceanic distances.

It is not known what caused the Storegga sediments to fail. It may have been due to overloading of the sediments causing them to become unstable and they then failed solely as a result of being overloaded. It is also possible that an earthquake caused the sediments to become unstable and then fail. Another theory is that a release of gas hydrates (methane etc.,) caused the slump.

The "Great Chilean earthquake" (19:11 hrs UTC) May 22, 1960 (9.5 Mw), the March 27, 1964 "Good Friday earthquake" Alaska 1964 (9.2 Mw), and the "Great Sumatra-Andaman earthquake" (00:58:53 UTC) December 26, 2004 (9.2 Mw), are recent examples of powerful megathrust earthquakes that generated a tsunami that was able to cross oceans. Smaller (4.2 Mw) earthquakes in Japan can trigger tsunami that can devastate nearby coasts within 15 minutes or less.

In the 1950s it was hypothesised that larger tsunamis than had previously been believed possible may be caused by landslides, explosive volcanic action e.g., Santorini, Krakatau, and impact events when they contact water. These phenomena rapidly displace large volumes of water, as energy from falling debris or expansion is transferred to the water into which the debris falls at a rate faster than the ocean water can absorb it. They have been named by the media as "mega-tsunami."

Tsunami caused by these mechanisms, unlike the trans-oceanic tsunami caused by some earthquakes, may dissipate quickly and rarely affect coastlines distant from the source due to the small area of sea affected. These events can give rise to much larger local shock waves (solitons), such as the landslide at the head of Lituya Bay 1958, which produced a wave with an initial surge estimated at 524 m. However, an extremely large gravitational landslide might generate a so called "mega-tsunami" that may have the ability to travel trans-oceanic distances. This though is strongly debated and there is no actual geological evidence to support this hypothesis.

So.after read above text what about your opinion as a would class engineer?

Do you know who create the first bicycle in the world?about bicycle history?

Bicycle History in Debate
Some history books will state that Pierre and Ernest Michaux, the French father and son team of carriage-makers, invented the first bicycle during the 1860s. Historians now disagree and there is evidence that the bicycle is older than that. However, historians do agree that Ernest Michaux did invent the modern bicycle pedal and cranks in 1861.

Baron Karl Drais von Sauerbronn - Early Bicycles
The German Baron Karl Drais von Sauerbronn invented the "Laufmaschine" or "Running Machine", a type of pre-bicycle. The steerable Laufmaschine was made entirely of wood and had no pedals; a rider would push his/her feet against the ground to make the machine go forward. Sauerbronn's bicycle was first exhibited in Paris on April 6, 1818. The celerifere was another similar early bicycle precursor invented in 1790 by Frenchmen, Comte Mede de Sivrac, however, it had no steering.

Penny Farthing
The Penny Farthing is also referred to as the 'High' or 'Ordinary' bicycle, and the first one was invented in 1871 by British engineer, James Starley. The Penny Farthing came after the development of the 'Hobbyhorse', and the French 'Velocipede' or 'Boneshaker', all versions of early bikes. However, the Penny Farthing was the first really efficient bicycle, consisting of a small rear wheel and large front wheel pivoting on a simple tubular frame with tires of rubber.

Now a day, bicycle is a important vehicle.there era many type of bicycle.so as a student in ump, bicycle is the best choice to go to class.

Lion watching

I went on a Lion Safari by myself as it has always been a dream of mine to do something like that. These animals are breathtaking - they have pride and carry a mysterious aura that draw people to them. I think lions truly reflect the spirit of life - lionesses babysit other mothers' cub while she will hunt and live in groups called 'prides' with as many as 40 lions in them! I was always fascinated by lions, but since going on the tour I have learnt so much more!

A lion can drink for as long as 20 mins after eating. A male eats first, even if the female catches the prey. Lions rarely eat an entire prey, leaving the rest for other animals such as vultures. The average lifespan is 13 years.

It like the circle of life. Some time we in hight place and some time we in lower place.

14 october, madame cheong says something about the girl that have the chicken pox because the girls do it well in blogger so madame cheong show me her blog posting as a guide.

There's no shortage of theories on how chicken pox got its name, but two are more credible than others. One is that the term derives from cicer, the Latin word for chickpea, which a chicken pox pustule resembles. The other suggests it comes from the Old English word for itch, gican. Be they itchy pox or chickpea pox, one thing is certain: chicken pox doesn't come from chickens.
Pox, or pocks, is an ancient word for any disease characterised by pustules on the skin's surface. Aside from chicken pox and smallpox, there is also the lesser-known cowpox - carried by rodents but often transmitted to humans via contaminated cows during milking - and a rare form of smallpox seen in Africa called monkey pox.

people knows about chicken pox,but why did it called chicken pox and how its gets its name people dont know about it, thats why i'm interested to tell you the origin of words "chicken pox"... but avoid this desease because its effect other people to get this kind of desease..

36,234 dengue cases with 80 deaths reported this year

A total of 36,234 cases of dengue fever, with 80 deaths, have been reported in the country this year as of last Saturday, Health Minister Datuk Liow Tiong Lai said today.
He said although the number of cases drop by 11 per cent from the corresponding period last year, there was a rising trend in dengue cases in some states, like Selangor, Perak, Terengganu, Kelantan, Sarawak, Johor and Melaka, since last month.

The ministry, he added, was concern with the rising trend in dengue cases and called for public cooperation to prevent the spread of the disease, especially with the approaching of the rainy season which condition encouraged breeding of aedes mosquitoes.

Speaking to reporters here, Liow said the ministry would launch a nationwide awareness campaign on dengue, to be carried out at state and district levels as well as in schools and by the private sector, to increase public participation in addressing the issue.

Under the campaign, owners of premises would be asked to allocate 10 minutes everyweek to inspect their buildings and the surrounding areas to ensure they were not mosquito breeding grounds, he added.
He said the public could obtain the insecticide which could be used to kill mosquito larvae from health clinics in their respective areas.

China Recalls More Milk Items for Testing

BEIJING — The Chinese government ordered a recall on Tuesday of all milk products produced before Sept. 14 that are still on the shelves so the products can be tested for the toxic chemical melamine.

Melamine, a substance illicitly added to watered-down milk to falsely indicate a higher protein count, has led to the deaths of at least three babies; at least 53,000 other children have fallen ill. Those statistics are weeks old, though, and the government has yet to release updated numbers, which are believed to be much higher.

The government announced limits for allowable traces of melamine last week. If the recalled products meet the new standards, they will be put back on the market, the government said. Dairy products thought to have a real risk of melamine contamination were already recalled weeks ago, right after the milk crisis first emerged. The recall announced Tuesday was an effort by the government to show the public that it was enforcing its new trace melamine limits.

Meanwhile, a lawyer based in Shanghai has filed a lawsuit in the northwestern Gansu Province on behalf of a family whose 6-month-old son, Yi Kaixuan, died in May after drinking tainted baby formula. A handful of lawsuits have been filed on behalf of parents whose children have died or fallen ill from drinking tainted dairy products, but so far no court has accepted a case.

Separately, the Ministry of Health and the State Food and Drug Administration also announced Tuesday that the brand of herbal drug suspected of killing three people recently was “tainted with bacteria,” Xinhua, the state news agency, reported. The drug, Siberian ginseng or ciwujia, was made by Wandashan Pharmaceutical, based in northeastern China.

Afghan government troops repulsed a fresh attack late Tuesday by Taliban fighters massed outside the provincial capital of Lashkar Gah in southwestern Afghanistan and killed at least 18 of them, the provincial governor’s office said Wednesday.

NATO spokesmen said the attack, the second in four days on that city, underscored the growing abilities of the Taliban, who have increased the tempo of their attacks as the seventh anniversary of their ouster from power in Kabul approaches.

The Taliban threat has led to a wide-ranging review of war strategy in Washington and to insistent calls from American commanders for more troops.

NATO officials said the two attacks at Lashkar Gah showed how the Taliban had grown into a far more formidable force than in the early years of the conflict. They now have an ability to mass fighters in large groups, sometimes in the hundreds, with an array of small and heavy weapons, and they can coordinate attacks more effectively, often involving simultaneous thrusts from different directions.

Western diplomats here said the attacks on Lashkar Gah, capital of Helmand Province, about 340 miles southwest of Kabul, also demonstrated an increased political sophistication. Although both the Saturday and Tuesday attacks failed and incurred heavy Taliban casualties, they said, the Taliban might count them as a success for the attention they drew to their ability to seriously threaten an ambitious target.

Lashkar Gah lies at the heart of the Helmand River Valley. In recent times, the province has been the center of Afghanistan’s opium industry, which supplies more than 80 percent of the world’s heroin.

United Nations drug experts calculated that more than half the roughly 8,500 tons of opium that Afghanistan produced this year came from Helmand, and NATO commanders have said that the $4 billion in annual revenue generated by drug trafficking within Afghanistan is a major source of funding for the Taliban and their allies in Al Qaeda. That in itself makes Helmand a major battlefield, even more so since NATO defense ministers agreed last week to include attacks on drug traffickers aiding the insurgency in the NATO mandate here.

The attack on Lashkar Gah on Tuesday evening lasted several hours and left 18 attackers dead, according to Dawood Ahmadi, spokesman for the governor of Helmand Province. On Sunday, Mr. Ahmadi said that 62 Taliban had been killed in fighting with Afghan and NATO troops after a previous attempt to break through the city’s defenses. On both occasions, the attacks were launched from several different points simultaneously.

In a further indication of the war’s intensity in Helmand, a NATO statement on Wednesday confirmed that “precision airstrikes” had been carried out Monday evening against “a small group” of Taliban commanders in the Baramcha district, about 100 miles south of Lashkar Gah. Mr. Ahmadi said 70 Taliban had been killed by those strikes.

Mr. Ahmadi offered an alarming picture of the situation around Baramcha, saying it was out of government control.

“The militants are gathering in large numbers there, helped by the proximity of the area to their sanctuaries in Pakistan,” he said. The militants included “large numbers” of foreign fighters, including Arabs, Chechens and Uzbeks, he said.

Afghan government claims of Taliban casualties have often been exaggerated, and spokesmen for the NATO command said they were unable to confirm Mr. Ahmadi’s figures. But after the first Taliban attack on Lashkar Gah, launched at nightfall on Saturday and finally repulsed only after daybreak on Sunday, the NATO command estimated the Taliban losses at 50 to 55, close to the Afghan government figure.

A reporter for The New York Times who reached residents of Lashkar Gah by telephone found that at least some were not reassured. The residents reported that villagers living in the Bolan district, a few miles northwest of the city, had been ordered by the Taliban to abandon their homes and shops, and that they had fled into Lashkar Gah or northward up the Helmand Valley to the Gereshk district.

One resident of Lashkar Gah, Abdul Bari, 40, blamed the coalition troops for the Taliban pressure on the city. The coalition troops are part of what NATO calls Task Force Helmand, which is commanded by a British general and centered on a British force of nearly 8,000.

“People in the city are terrified at what will happen if the Taliban get into the city,” Mr. Bari said. “We don’t understand why the international troops, and the Afghan Army, didn’t take action earlier when the Taliban began gathering in these districts around the city.”

The spokesman for the task force, Lt. Col. Woody Page of the Royal Marines, said that although Taliban forces in Helmand had grown in numbers and sophistication, there was no threat of the city’s being overrun.

“Lashkar Gah is home to nearly 50,000 people,” he said. “It is a well-governed city with a strong military force to defend it, and cities like this don’t fall into insurgents’ hands. That will not be allowed to happen. The insurgents will not gain a foothold here.”

Asian Markets Plummet; Japan's Nikkei Dives 11 Percent

Asian stocks tumbled Thursday, with Tokyo's market plunging more than 11 percent, after another dive on Wall Street as worse-than-expected data about the U.S. economy heightened fears of a global recession.

Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso blamed the renewed drop in markets on an "insufficient" U.S. bailout plan totaling $700 billion.

"Since it was insufficient, the market is again falling sharply," Aso told lawmakers. He did not elaborate.

Tokyo's Nikkei 225 stock average slid 1,089.02 points, or 11.41 percent, to 8,458.45, its biggest one-day drop since the stock market crash of October 1987.

In South Korea, the main index dropped 9.25 percent after Standard & Poor's said it may downgrade the credit ratings of seven of the country's major banks. The ratings agency warned the credit crisis could make it difficult for the companies to refinance maturing debt.

Every other key index was deep in the red, with Hong Kong off 6.2 percent, Australia down 6.7 percent and Singapore losing 7.3 percent.

Investors were unnerved by U.S. data showing the country's retail sales fell 1.2 percent in September, almost double the 0.7 percent decline analysts expected — clear evidence that consumer spending, which accounts for more than two-thirds of U.S. economic activity, was weakening.

That was followed by more bearish data from the U.S. Federal Reserve that showed the economy continued to slow in the early fall as financial and credit market problems took a turn for the worse.

All told, the readings provided some of the most ominous signs to date that the world's largest economy — a critical export market for Asia — was sliding into recession, if not already in one.

"Sentiment is deteriorating very fast. People are losing what little confidence they have on a day-by-day basis," said Jacky Choi, a Hong Kong-based fund manager at Value Partners Ltd., which manages about $5 billion in Asia. "Everyone is very worried about the economy in the U.S and around the world."

North Korea Threatens to Cut Ties With South Korea

North Korea threatened Thursday to break off all relations with South Korea if its new conservative government continues what the North called a policy of reckless confrontation with the communist nation.

The warning, issued in a commentary carried in the North's main Rodong Sinmun newspaper, means Pyongyang could terminate civilian exchanges with the South, including a tourism program and a joint factory park, which have continued despite a freeze in government-level ties.

The North made a similar threat during military talks with the South earlier this month, saying it would expel South Koreans from the tourism and industrial projects if propaganda leaflets critical of Pyongyang keep arriving over the border.

North Korea has been unhappy with South Korea's new President Lee Myung-bak, who took office in February with a pledge to get tough on the rival state — a stance that contrasted with that of his two liberal predecessors who aggressively sought reconciliation by providing massive aid to the impoverished nation.

If the South "keeps to the road of reckless confrontation with the (North), defaming its dignity despite its repeated warnings, this will compel it to make a crucial decision including the total freeze of the North-South relations," the commentary said.

Woman Declared Dead, Still Breathing in Morgue

An hour after being admitted, the hospital told Johnson’s husband his wife was dead, Wilmington's News Journal reported Tuesday.

When someone at the morgue noticed Johnson’s “corpse” was still breathing, Louis Johnson learned his wife was very much alive.

The Johnsons are now suing the hospital and medical staff for compensatory and punitive damages.

“She is brain injured, but can walk and talk,” the Johnson’s attorney, Dr. Leon Aussprung told The News Journal.

Judith Johnson, 61, of Georgetown, Del., was actually having a heart attack when she arrived at the hospital in May 2007. Less than 45 minutes after she arrived, she went into cardiac arrest.

She was given "multiple medicines and synchronized shocks," according to emergency room records, which also indicate she was not given supplemental oxygen. The records also say she "never regained a pulse," and was declared dead at 8:34 p.m.

Johnson now suffers from liver damage, chest pain, memory loss, speech problems, and a change in personality, seizures, and permanent neurological injury as a result of the care she received at Beebe Medical Center, according to the lawsuit.

Beebe medical officials did not directly comment on the lawsuit.

“The situation that you described, while rare, is not unheard of,” said Wallace Hudson, Beebe’s vice president of corporate affairs. “It is called spontaneous return of circulation, otherwise known as ‘Lazarus syndrome. Medical literature points out that since 1982, there have been at least 25 reported cases of survival after failed resuscitation.

Do you all want to know about the top 10 expensive cars in the world?
Today, I have read about top 10 most expensive cars in the world. The most expensive cars in the world is Bugatti Veyron $1,700,000.

The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 is the most powerful, most expensive, and fastest street-legal production car in the world, with a proven top speed of over 400 km/h (407 km/h or 253 mph). It reached full production in September 2005. The car is built by Volkswagen AG subsidiary Bugatti Automobiles SAS and is sold under the legendary Bugatti marque. It is named after racing driver Pierre Veyron, who won the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1939 while racing for the original Bugatti firm. The Veyron features a W16 engine—16 cylinders in 4 banks of 4 cylinders.

According to Volkswagen, the final production Veyron engine produces between 1020 and 1040 metric hp (1006 to 1026 SAE net hp), so the car will be advertised as producing "1001 horsepower" in both the US and European markets. This easily makes it the most powerful production road-car engine in history.Thank you.

Chocolate for health!!
Those of us that love chocolate know that Chocolate Health is a way of life. Chocolate’s power as a decadent treat is well known, but the positive effects of chocolate on health are still being discovered.

What is it about chocolate that’s so intoxicating? Obviously, there’s the flavor. However, there’s a certain, not quite definable, joy that occurs at the moment luscious, succulent chocolate shavings touch the tongue. Chocolate’s Aztec roots give it mystery. It’s dark, bold color gives it depth. Chocolate enchants us. Chocolate promises a better tomorrow and delivers a fantastic today.

We know that chocolate contains loads of anti-oxidants. Chocolate releases serotonin that picks up our spirits. Chocolate encourages the release of endorphins that kicks up our energy level. Chocolate can satisfy your sweet tooth or quell that desire for a midnight snack.

The science is important, but Chocolate Health is much more than chemistry and equations. We know that eating chocolate is a sensuous, emotional, and quintessentially human experience.

No one is saying that you can eat as much chocolate as you want. But what would life be like if you could never have chocolate? The positive benefits of chocolate can be lovingly integrated into a healthy lifestyle.

My favorite is a dark chocolate candy bar. The darker the better. Typically I try to get 62% cacao or better. You have to let the chocolate melt on your tongue. Chewing would be a tragic waste. Just close your eyes, lean your head back, and enjoy the rush of chocolate flavor.

Leonidas makes a fantastic 70% cacao bar. You have to try it. Give one as gift to someone you love and you’ll know the other staple of Chocolate Health: sharing! Gift chocolates are a fantastic way to connect with people in your life.

Recently I have read an article about US scientists that found the oldest fossil tracks of legged animal, from 570 million years ago. The discovery has push back the advent of more complex creatures on Earth by some 30 million years.

The fossil was found in sdimentary rocks in the US state of Nevada and thought to belong to a centipede that lived in the water.
They also suggest that animals walked using legs at least 30 millin years earlier than had been thought.

Finally, i'm back in UMP after about three weeks i'm holiday because a chicken pox. Unluckily, i had chicken pox during Hari Raya celebartion.

Because about this, I can't go anywhere. Just site at home. Alone and lonely. Huhuhu. To make my life happy I enjoy myself watching tv and cd's.

Here, I would like to share to you all about a chicken pox illness and a symptoms.

Chickenpox is a highly contagious illness caused by primary infection with varicella zoster virus (VZV). It generally begins with spots appearing in two or three waves, mainly on the body and head rather than the hands and becoming itchy raw pockmarks, small open sores which heal mostly without scarring.

Chickenpox is a highly contagious disease that spreads from person to person by direct contact or by air from an infected person's coughing or sneezing. Touching the fluid from a chickenpox blister can also spread the disease. A person with chickenpox is contagious from one to five days before the rash appears and until all blisters have formed scabs. This may take 5 to 10 days.It takes from 10 to 20 days after contact with an infected person for someone to develop chickenpox.

The chicken pox lesions (blisters) start as a two to four millimeter red papule which develops an irregular outline (a rose petal). A thin-walled, clear vesicle (dew drop) develops on top of the area of redness. This "dew drop on a rose petal" lesion is very characteristic of chickenpox. After about 8 to 12 hours the fluid in the vesicle becomes cloudy and the vesicle breaks leaving a crust. The fluid is highly contagious, but once the lesion crusts over it is not considered contagious. The crust usually falls off after seven days sometimes leaving a crater-like scar. Although one lesion goes through this complete cycle in about seven days, another hallmark of chickenpox is that new lesions crop up every day for several days. Therefore it may be a week before new lesions stop appearing and existing lesions crust over. Children should not be sent back to school until all lesions have crusted over.

It is not necessary to have physical contact with the infected person for the disease to spread. Infected persons can spread chickenpox before they know they have the disease, i.e. before any rash develops. They can infect others from about two days before the rash develops until all the sores have crusted over, usually four or five days after the rash starts.

There is no evidence to support the effectiveness of topical application of calamine lotion, a topical barrier preparation containing zinc oxide in spite of its wide usage and excellent safety profile. It is important to maintain good hygiene and daily cleaning of skin with warm water to avoid secondary bacterial infection.

If exposure to varicella in certain 'at risk' populations is confirmed (immunosuppressed individuals, pregnant seronegative women, neonates), anti-varicella zoster immunoglobulin may be given prior to onset of disease symptoms.

Infection in otherwise healthy adults tends to be more severe and active; treatment with antiviral drugs (e.g. acyclovir) is generally advised. Patients of any age with depressed immune systems or extensive eczema are at risk of more severe disease and should also be treated with antiviral medication. In the U.S., 55 percent of chickenpox deaths are in the over-20 age group, even though they are a tiny fraction of the cases.

For me, the first week i had this chicken pox, my auntie ask me to drink a coconut water every day.
After all the chicken pox go out, I use bamboo leave mix with cold powder to put at my face and all my bodies. Luckily, this make my chicken pox faster to dry as ussualy.

I also cannot eat chicken, meets and seafood. Rains also I cannot tuch. Huhuhuhu.

But now, I ok already. I'm here to catch up my studies because too long holiday ang too many things to carry out back....

Do you know what is funny animal about????

Funny animal is a cartooning term for the genre of comics and animated cartoons in which the main characters are humanoid or talking animals, with anthropomorphic personality traits.

The characters themselves may also be called funny animals. Well-known examples include Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny and Tom & Jerry.

While most funny animal stories are light-hearted and humorous, the genre is not exclusively comedic. Dark or serious stories featuring characters of this sort can also be grouped under the "funny animals" category, sometimes referred to as anthropomorphics to avoid confusion over the range of genres.

These stories may intersect with any other genre or group of genre, including historical stories, science fiction, superheroes, westerns, slapstick comedy, children's entertainment, and satire.

I'm going to share with you what important to do a face exercise. These few exercises if they are done correctly and every day will greatly improve the look and expressiveness of your face. After a few minutes a day and you'll see amazing positive changes in your face in just a few weeks. Drivel like this is confusing because in reality facial muscles and the skin covering them do not respond to easy short-term solutions.

Unlike the skeletal muscles of the body, the facial muscles are directly attached to the skin that covers them. (They are also attached to other facial muscles and to bone.) When these facial muscles start to lose their tone and elasticity because of age and gravity, the skin that is attached to them starts to sag. This of course gives the look you don't want to see reflected back to you in the bathroom mirror.

But these exercises are not for men and women whose idea of self-improvement is to pop a multivitamin pill or to inject Botox into the muscles of the forehead. The facial exercise will require some dedication, some persistence - some work. You'll get results from this exercise. You'll like what you see in the mirror after even several months.

Funny Face
Written by Debbie Breslow
with narration by Kenny Breslow

FUNNY FACE is a heartwarming story about a four-year-old (now age seven) born with a facial anomaly known as an arteriovenous malformation (AVM). Although AVMs are typically found in the brain and spine, Kenny's AVM affects his nose.

This causes it to be bigger and redder than any other child his age. As a result, he must endure unconscious staring, innocent questioning and harmful teasing.

In this story, Kenny's mom reveals the true experience of what it is like for a youngster to live with a facial difference. AVMs look a lot like hemangiomas, another anomaly found on the face.

However, the treatment of an AVM is much different than the treatment of a hemangioma.

The story is geared to suit a wide variety of readers: from medical and school professionals to children and families touched by AVMs or other facial differences.

The book's underlying message is also critical for everyone who needs educating about the importance of not judging others by physical appearance alone.

FUNNY FACE relates a young boy's medical and psychosocial experience in an easy-to-read story.By embracing the experience of a child with a facial AVM, the author hopes you reach a higher level of understanding of vascular anomalies and that you will recognize the importance of tolerance awareness.

Do you love what you see when you look in the mirror?

Hollywood and the fashion, cosmetics and diet industries work hard to make each of us believe that our bodies are unacceptable and need constant improvement.

Print ads and television commercials reduce us to body parts — lips, legs, breasts — airbrushed and touched up to meet impossible standards. TV shows tell women and teenage girls that cosmetic surgery is good for self-esteem.

Is it any wonder that 80% of U.S. women are dissatisfied with their appearance?

Women and girls spend billions of dollars every year on cosmetics, fashion, magazines and diet aids. These industries can't use negative images to sell their products without our assistance.

Onions

What would a kitchen be without the distinctively pungent smell and taste of onions filling out the flavors of almost every type of cuisine imaginable?

Fortunately, yellow storage onions are available throughout the year but sweet varieties have a much more limited growing season and are available only a few months out of the year.

The word onion comes from the Latin word unio for "single," or "one," because the onion plant produces a single bulb, unlike its cousin, the garlic, that produces many small bulbs. The name also describes the union (also from unio) of the many separate, concentrically arranged layers of the onion.

Nutritional benefits of ginger

In Asian societies, ginger has always been known for its healing powers. Pythagorus was one of its greatest supporters in Ancient Greece. King Henry VIII of England used it to protect against the plague. Though we don't know for sure if ginger can actually protect you from the plague, we do know that it is beneficial in many other ways.

The American Phytotherapy Research Laboratory in Salt Lake City has conducted a classic study on motion sickness, which may cause you to leave the dramamine on the shelf during your next vacation. By spinning motion sickness-prone students in two groups-one group was given Dramamine, the other group ginger-it was discovered that the group given the ginger was able to withstand the full 6 minute "spin" with less nausea and dizziness, while the other group stopped the ride within 4 1/2 minutes. Japanese researchers believe the gingerols found in ginger, may be responsible for blocking the body's reflex to vomit. Taking 1/4 teaspoon 20 minutes before a car or baot trip should give you about 4 hours of relief. Another popular remedy is 3 or 4 slices of sliced ginger in a cup of boiling water to make ginger tea. Sip as needed to relieve nausea caused by motion sickness.

Denmark researchers have discovered that ginger can block the effects of prostaglandins. These are substances that cause inflammation of the blood vessels in the brain, which leads to migraines. Though the results are still experimental, 1/3 teaspoon of fresh of powdered ginger taken when you feel a migraine coming on can help stop pain before it starts. Using the same theory, ginger has been found to produce "marked" relief in arthritis pain. The ginger tea described above or 1/2 teaspoon of ginger is recommended by Danish researchers for arthritis relief.

A researcher at Cornell University Medical College discovered that ginger has an effect on blood clots that is similar to that of aspirin. By the same token, it appears that high cholesterol levels are lowered using the same active ingredient, thromboxane.

When buying ginger, fresh is best! Be sure to avoid ginger with dry, wrinkled, skin, mold or soft spots. African ot Indian ginger are the most potent. Grating or using a garlic press will give you the maximum benefit. Ginger can definitely give you many benefits but more is not always better. An ounce a day should give you all the benefits you will need.

About this information, I think it better from now we all must started to eat ginger in our food for get a better healty and life.. Lets do it my freinds..

Protect your cats.

I want to share to you all about seven steps that we can take to protect our cat from illness and die.

1. Keep the litter box clean. Not just "clean," but CLEAN. Scoop it more than once a day if more than one cat is using it. The rule of thumb is to have one box per cat, but it's also useful to have litter pans in strategic locations so no one is stuck with a full bladder when they're on the wrong side of a door when the urge hits.

2. Wash your hands after this task, to prevent accidental spreading of infectious material that might be in the box. Some of the parasites that infect cats can also spread to people and other pets in your home, such as hookworms, roundworms, and some bacteria.

3. Prevent your cat from hunting mice or other rodents, if possible. Cats who are allowed outdoors are most at risk, though sometimes mice can enter our living spaces and even indoor cats may instinctively wish to catch and eat them. The risk is that rodents often carry fleas and ingesting them causes tapeworm infections.

4. Never let your cat come into contact with the feces of other pets. This is one reason to keep all litter boxes clean. You don't want Cat A stepping into a box Cat B just used and picking up some fecal residue on their paws. They will clean themselves by licking it off. You also don't want them stepping in the dog's business in the yard, so take care of that, too.

5. Keep an eye on your pet to be aware of any changes in behavior, appearance or habits. If they have ear mites, for example, they may scratch their heads or necks a lot, sometimes drawing blood. Some parasites, such as hookworms, will cause the cat's stools to be quite dark. Tapeworms leave tiny white segments that resemble grains of rice in their fur, under their tails. Others, such as round worms, can cause vomiting and diarrhea. Brush or massage your cat daily to get a feel for the condition of their fur and skin. Check for ticks, fleas, and sores.

6. Keep your veterinarian's phone number handy, and take your cat in whenever you spot signs of potentially serious health problems.

7. Take your cat in to be spayed or neutered, vaccinated as required in your area, and to get a professional, clean bill of health for the coming season. Have your cat tested for diseases or parasites that are common where you live, too, such as heartworms and giardia. Treatment is effective only if you catch it soon enough.

I hope, this information can help you all to take a good care to your cats. Have a nice day..

NICOL David's third World Open title triumph on Sunday puts her on a select list of former greats who have won the world crown three or more times.
Having also reigned as the World No 1 for the last 27 months, Nicol added another accolade to her growing list of honours when she was named the Wispa Player of the Year at the 2008 World Squash Awards in Manchester on Saturday.

National junior Low Wee Wern and national No 3 Delia Arnold were also in the running for Wispa's Young Player and Most Improved Player awards but lost out to Hong Kong's Annie Au and Laura Lengthorn-Massaro respectively.

For the 25-year-old Nicol though, it was the third straight year she was honoured as the best women's squash player, cementing her ever increasing dominance of the sport.

Nicol vanquished crowd favourite Vicky Botwright in Sunday's final 5-11, 11-1, 11-6, 11-9 to regain the world title she won in 2005 and 2006 to join New Zealand's Susan Devoy and Australians Michelle Martin and Sarah Fitz-Gerald as the only women to have won the World Open at least three times.
With the British Open -- one of the two prestigious titles in squash apart from the World Open -- also in the bag for a third time, there is nothing much else for Nicol to chase bar setting new records.

But more than records, there is one other honour that Nicol wants more than anything else -- Olympic glory.

MALAYSIA, after a perfect two wins from two matches, only need a point from today's last Group A match against Afghanistan to top the group in the 40th Merdeka Tournament competition.
Malaysia, who beat Nepal 4-0 on Wednesday and followed that with another 4-0 drubbing of Sierra Leone on Friday, are already through to the semi-finals. The hosts, if they top the group, will meet either Myanmar or Mozambique in Thursday's last four match.

National coach, B. Sathianathan is expected to play his second stringers for the match at the National Stadium, Bukit Jalil today.

"As I have said before, I have enough players who will be able to replace the first team players, and I will give them an opportunity tomorrow (today). It's up to them to perform. They have to grab the chance given," said Sathianathan after training at Wisma FAM.

Afghanistan held Nepal to a 2-2 draw on Friday, but nonetheless, the hosts should come out winners provided they take the chances.
The coach is expected to play S. Subramaniam in defence today to give Norhafiz Zamani a break. Perak's Subramaniam is capable of holding the defence as he will have Khaironnisam Sahabuddin and Azi Shahril Azmi to assist him.

SHAHRUKH’S AWARDS: Poor Show

I ABSOLUTELY agree with the voices of protest over the conferment of a datukship to Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan ("Protest over star's Datukship" -- NST, Oct 14). Not only does it "belittle the credibility and creativity of local talents", the move also reflects the Malaysian tendency to idolise foreigners rather than our own countrymen.

Poor show

The Malacca government's conferment of the Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka (DMSM) on Bollywood hearthrob Shah-rukh Khan is the pinnacle of mediocracy by a state administration.

The Artistes Association of Malaysia (Seniman) filed a protest over the award, with president Datuk Mustapha Maarof saying the award for Shahrukh belittles the credibility and creativity of local talent. Film Directors Association of Malaysia president Ahmad Ibrahim was convinced Shahrukh didn't even know what being a "datuk" means.

This could explain why Shahrukh didn't bother to attend the investiture ceremony last Saturday. He was probably sipping a cocktail in his mansion in Mumbai and mumbled "Yeah, whatever" when his assistant conveyed the news to him.

I end this letter with my two-sen worth of advice to the state government regarding the conferment of Datukships to the undeserving: Sudahlah tu.

Teaching Science/Math in English: Reverse this flawed policy

IT was shocking to see the overwhelming response in favour of continuing the policy of teaching Science and Mathematics in English.
Some doubted the reliability of the Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris study that prompted the resurgence of the debate, while others religiously held to the absurd notion that reversing this policy signifies a step back in the national agenda of increasing our children's proficiency in the language.

No one focused on what Science and Mathematics classes in schools are supposed to be about: Science and Mathematics.

Surely, that should be the primary criterion in considering whether computers should be used instead of blackboards, if calculators should be allowed to replace the abacus and, certainly, if English should be the medium of instruction.

Ultimately, we must set our priorities right. If improving the level of English is our concern -- as it should be -- it must be done through other channels that do not adversely affect an equally important agenda: providing fair "access" to Mathematics and Science to all.
It could well be that the teaching methods of English may need relooking and teachers may need retraining.

Middle-class urban-dwell- ing Malaysians -- me included -- are mostly wary of developing elitist tendencies, especially when it comes to education. That a study revealing the flaws in the policy could be so readily ignored and doubted, however, indicates a state of denial among many whose children may be comfortable with things as they are.

But nobody can escape the fact that if there is sufficient evidence showing that the policy is leading to a poorer understanding of Science and Mathematics, with geographical and class underpinnings involved, it is really not the implementation of the policy that needs fixing.

Instead, it is the flawed policy that requires reversal, if for nothing else, in the spirit of fairness.

CAMPUS WATCH: Get a grounding in business laws

IN an increasingly complex and dynamic international trading environment, it is an advantage to have advanced training in the specialised areas of various business laws.
Pusat Kembangan Pendidikan (Centre for Educational Extension) Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia offers a two-year five-semester Master in Business Law programme which costs RM18,800.

The curriculum includes courses in Islamic finance, international trade and business transactions. Students will be expected to obtain a firm grounding in the structure and legal norms in shaping business activity through courses in corporate finance, securities regulation, principles of commercial and insolvency law.

Entry requirement is either a LL.B (Honours) or its equivalent. Any recognised first degree (Honours) with at least three years' working experience is also acceptable.

Applicants with law degrees but without sufficient working experience must have achieved at least second class (lower) or its equivalent.

There are three type of human.

A boat set sail to an island before sailed to final destination.

Once they stop at the island, everyone off board the boat.

A first group of human, took everything on the island then on board the boat.
Then the second one come late but yet still able to onboard the ship at time the board was ready to set sail to the destination.
Whereby the third one, left behind the island, thinking that the island was they final resting site.

The true yet left they eyes blind, since theres something more good wait for those who know whats good for them in life at the next island.

Dont you think its a good story? Which one are we?
