The article are from somewhere in thestar.com.my and the harakahdaily.net, its the highlight.

A little bit about the Permatang Pauh by-election

The center of attention once again centered in Permatang Pauh where the government part and the other opposition party against with our former deputy prime minister.

The by-election is not just like any other by-election in our country. It’s probably the start of reformation in our nation. This is because it’s probably the starting point of our charmed leader of that could abolish the injustice in our nation.

The highlight start with the couple of reporter got beaten, from unlikely sources stated that they been attacked by a group of people from the some party, but the party denied those allegation, that they had been foul-play. Nevertheless, it has not stopped the level of confident to the party.

But even more interesting, the oil price had been reduced and the public holiday had been announce in that state, because the by-election is due to working day for some particular reason.

Conclusion, even though there’s occurring of this foul-play, but still the people had strong confident to the representative.

Perodua Myvi has been launch in May 2005. The car has become the most popular car since that. The production company produce 8800 units every month to fit the demand.

Many Malaysian buy this car as their second car as well as their first car. Consider the fuel price nowadays, this type of car consuming quite efficient consumption of petrol.

Based on the highly demand, Perodua has launch the new facelift Myvi last week. Yes, like what is written in this article, the new Myvi has a masculine look. More accesories for entertainment and all kind of stuffs to suit with the price.

But personally, I like how the old Myvi look from the exterior. Not trying to be as Jeremy Clarkson from Topgear show, maybe it is just because I have my own taste about car...hmmm

Chelsea VS Malaysia 2-0, what do you think??

Chelsea's manager,Luiz Felipe Scolari said it was the pitch condition that made it hard for his players to play. If the stadium was to be an international stadium, maybe a really big one and with high quality standards in parallel with UEFA standards, Chelsea could have thumped Malaysia well.

Also, Luiz Felipe Scolari did not really consider this an important game and just tried new tactics. Not only him, but the players too.

I think, it could have been at least 2-1. Malaysia was poor in their passes and did not take their chances. There was a time this Malaysian striker could have lobbed the ball over Cech but instead tried to shoot below his body. Hardi Jaafar played quite selfishly, trying to shoot outside the box as if he was a pro. I think Hardi Jaafar was the best Malaysian player because he knew how to pass and make a good strike. He also won several dribbles and tussles against the larger and better opponents, such as Ashley Cole.

Do u guys realise Didier and Ballack did not play? When both of this players play, what will happen to Malaysia's team?

True friends help to add the right flavor to life.Friends are there to remind you that life is about taking things with a pinch of salt! Long talks over the phone with your best buddy or gossiping over a cup of coffee, these are a few things I would not trade for anything in this world!

The first Sunday of the month of August marks the celebration of Friendship Day. On this day, friends pamper each other with cards, friendship bands, and gifts while hanging out at the local coffee shop! Well, beautiful and meaningful words only help to strengthen this wonderful bond of friendship.

it can really seen during the visitation of providence..
for example the erthquake in shi quan, china..tsunamy in indonesia, sri lanka and etc..there are so many volunteer groups and societies from different country, different races, different religion to deliver their helping hand to disaster area and victims, although there are some dangerous or might take a risk when doing the work..

there have no others reason for them to take the risk ..it is jus because you and me, from 1 world ,we are family, not malaysian ,not american but we are erthman..

"What about Me?"

You could ask yourself if you are a good friend and if you have good friends. Do you help your friend to be a better person, discourage your friend from engaging in sinful acts, and be there for your friend when you are needed? Does your friend do the same for you?

When you look back, how will you be remembered as a friend? How will your friends remember you?

The beauty of friendship — of having a close friend, of being a close friend — is having someone that you can trust and knowing that you are trusted.

I love their wood house, green outside the house, and wind softly blown at the evening...in certain place you can found the river stream...uhh..

I hope I will have the opportunity to become a 'tourist' from another country, come to Malaysia and experience about this country..how weird..

KUALA LUMPUR: Cigarette prices should have been increased by 60 per cent instead of 60 sen a packet, said Malaysian Women's Action for Tobacco Control and Health (myWatch) president Datuk Hatijah Ayob "I am not happy with the price increase of three sen a cigarette. "This won't deter the youngsters from smoking or promote a healthy lifestyle. "In fact, tobacco companies are competing to lower their prices," Hatijah said. Malaysians puff around 30 million sticks a day. This adds up to a staggering RM6 billion going up in smoke in a year. Half of more than 3.5 million smokers in the whole country smoke nearly 10 sticks a day. Many of the smokers are between 15 and 25 years old. Some 10,000 Malaysians die annually of diseases linked to smoking, including cancer and stroke. Hatijah said the government could help the poor by making cigarettes expensive, thus keeping it also out of the reach of youngsters. "Cigarette smoking is not a three sen increase issue. "It is the cause of many social, medical and economic problems in the household of the low and middle income group," she said. "Malaysia is a signatory to the World Health Organisation's Framework Convention for Tobacco Control."We should be sincere in our efforts to reduce the demand for tobacco products, and protect especially the minors and the women."
so,all smokers, should the prices of cigarette increase???....think about that??..thus it can decrease the smokers..;D

My dad passed away suddenly

Hi,
I just signed up for this forum with hope that I can deal with some of my grief and learn from other people.

My dad was 65 and died suddenly about 1 month ago. It was very shocking because it was a massive heart attack and he was never sick.

What happen to this person is same with me. It happen to me 4 years ago. I feel so shocking when I know about that and most terrible when I’m not with my father at that time.

What can I say; I’m just about two days getting my SPM result when suddenly my mother calls my auntie about 3.00 am in the morning to tell about the bad news. When I heard about that, I feel like I’m in dreaming and I can’t really accept that. My father and I were very close and I feel lost. The most think that I can’t accept is my father passed away because a mistake make by the training doctor in the hospital. Just because a simple mistake my family lost my father. How we all want to live without my father??

But I know, nothing can change the fact and I and my family must accept this. It is hard for me to get to sleep and think how I will live without my father. I and my family take a long time to wake up and accept the fact. My family became more terrible when my brother becomes sick about a week. In a week my brother doesn’t want to talk with any want. Don’t want to eat. But after my mother brings my brother to see “Uztad” my brother becomes too normal.

That’s all I want to share with you all. Even though my dad already passed away, he still in my hearts until now.

"TERAWIH PRAYER"

Tarawih Prayer is a special Prayer Muslims perform only in the month of Ramadan. It is a sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), which means that it was his practice to perform Tarawih and Muslims are encouraged to do likewise, but it is not obligatory.

Tarawih is performed after `Isha’ (Night) Prayer. It can be performed at home, alone or in congregation, or at a mosque. In many mosques, one juz’ (30th part) of the Qur’an is recited each night in Tarawih. Thus performing Tarawih in the mosque imparts a special flavor to Ramadan, especially if one is able to do so every night and hear the whole Qur’an recited during the month....

“The industry has taken much greater strides than anyone ever imagined 40 years ago,” said Justin Rattner, Intel chief technology officer.

How to know if he/she is a liar

1.Body language

The physical expressions of a liar may appear to be stiff or limited. It is typical to see less hand and arm movement. The liar will try to withdraw into their own space.

A liar will often try to avoid eye contact. There of course may be other reasons for this response too and people with experience in a bi-cultural or multicultural setting may come across this trait without it being an indication or otherwise of honesty.

Another point that is often referred to in the literature on this topic is the tendency of someone who is lying is put their hands up near their face. Perhaps they will touch their throat or mouth, scratch their ear etc.

2.Reactions and method of interaction.

Someone who is lying will be uncomfortable when they have to face the person asking them questions or accusing them of a lie. Often this will translate into a person turning their body or head in a different direction.

It is also the case that a person who is lying will get very defensive. A person who is telling the truth will be more likely to attack or go on the offensive.

Liars may try to put physical barriers between them and the accuser. This may translate into the unconscious placing of an object, such as a piece of furniture, between themselves and the person who they are lying to, or they may cross their arms.

There's still some ways to detect a liar...figure it !!!

Stress management

Stress management is the application of methods to either reduce stress or increase tolerance to stress. Certain nootropics do both. Exercising to improve physical fitness, especially cardiovascular fitness, boosts the immune system and increases stress tolerance.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/health

In my opinion, relaxation techniques are physical methods used to relieve stress. Examples include , progressive relaxation, and fractional relaxation.
Stress management is effective when a person utilizes strategies to cope with or alter stressful situations.

"power, prowess and performance"
it is a article pubished in" the star" news paper by Nithya Sidhhu on last sunday, 7 september 2008.

in the article, she said that pursuit of academic excellence is similar to that by sportman for olypic gold.
students need to have the same drive, determination and patience.

for example, the US 4 x 100 relay team dropped their baton during the exchange between penultimate and the final runner.
although they did very well preparation before the competition, but they finally dropped thier baton during the competition.
it is same to the student also. even if u do 100 percent for your exam or test but u may not get the full marks.

what can u do???
the best u can do is keep ur eyes present. when answering questions, be humble therefore vigilant. read the intructions and questions
well and undertand them before answering. check your answer thoroughly. be careful- full of care rather than careless. don't be over confident
remember that there is always the possibility of making mistake.

it may be a clew for us to prervent making any careless mistake during the exam.

'what is good pronunciation"

"Level 1: People often don't understand what you want to say. You use the wrong sounds in English words.

Level 2: People understand what you want to say, but it is unpleasant to listen to you.

Level 3: People understand you, and your English is pleasant to listen to. "

extrated from http://www.antimoon.com/how/pronuncgood.htm, 9 september,2008.

which level are you now? for me, i think im jus between the level 1 and two or may be jus in level 1.

"Good pronunciation should be one of the first things that you learn in English. You can live without advanced vocabulary — you can use simple words to say what you want to say. You can live without advanced grammar — you can use simple grammar structures instead. But there is no such thing as "simple pronunciation". If you don't have good pronunciation, you have... bad pronunciation.

And the results of bad pronunciation are tragic. Even if you use great vocabulary and grammar, people may simply not understand what you want to say. "

quoted from http://www.antimoon.com/how/pronuncwhy.htm, 9 september 2008.

after attended last week english class, i suddenly realized that pronunciation is so important. it is because pronunciation is the 1st impression of you to your listener.

During i asked to read a short paragraph in the class, i feel so nervous, im so unconfident to speak or to read in english.

so we must learn to speak in english with correct pronunciation. we must let our listener pleasant to listen or to communication with us in english.

Do you know about hari raya puasa(hari raya aidilfitri)?

Celebration for Hari Raya Puasa starts at least a month ahead, during the fasting period of Ramadan. Women start to sew beautiful curtains and buy new clothes for the family. Some families also do renovation for the house so that the house would look better when the guests visit it during the festival. After fulfilling their one-month of fasting, the Muslims would be joyful to celebrate Hari Raya Puasa. On the morning of the festival, the Muslims would wear their new clothes and go to the mosque to pray. They offer their thanks to God and after that they would ask for forgiveness from their elders. This is an important custom followed by the Muslims.

They feel that the young ones asking forgiveness from their elders is very essential. On the day, they also visit their relatives and friends to celebrate the happy occasion. If you visit Muslims' homes on Hari Raya Puasa you can expect to taste a wide variety of delicious spicy dishes. Some favorite dishes that can be found in Muslims homes on this special occasion are ketupat, lontong, nasi padang and beef rendang. The Muslims also have the habit of giving packets of money to kids when they go visiting. The packets are usually be in green color and children often look forward to getting these money tokens on Hari Raya Puasa. Overall, Hari Raya Puasa is a delightful festival for the Muslims.

Do you know about fasting??

In Islam, fasting for a month is an obligatory practice during the holy month of Ramadan, from dawn until the sunset. Muslims are prohibited from eating, drinking, smoking, and engaging in sexual intercourse while fasting. Fasting in the month of Ramadan is one of the Pillars of Islam, and thus one of the most important acts of Islamic worship. By fasting, whether during Ramadan or other times, a Muslim draws closer to their Lord by abandoning the things they enjoy, such as food and drink. This makes the sincerity of their faith and their devotion to God all the more evident.

The Qur'an states that fasting was prescribed for those before them (i.e., the Jews and Christians) and that by fasting a Muslim gains taqwa, which can be described as the care taken by a person to do everything God has commanded and to keep away from everything that He has forbidden. Fasting helps prevent many sins and is a shield with which the Muslim protects him/herself from jahannam (hell).

Muslims believe that fasting is more than abstaining from food and drink. It also includes abstaining from any falsehood in speech and action, from any ignorant and indecent speech, and from arguing and fighting, and lustful thoughts. Therefore, fasting helps develop good behavior.

Fasting also inculcates a sense of fraternity and solidarity, as Muslims feel and experience what their needy and hungry brothers and sisters feel. However, even the poor, needy, and hungry participate in the fast. Moreover, Ramadan is a month of giving charity and sharing meals to break the fast together.

to be a good goalie???

For every soccer team, there has to be a goalie. Many people believe that the goalie, also known as the keeper, has the toughest job in the game. A goalie must try to stop all shots that are directed towards him or at the goal. If an opponent scores, a lot of the time the blame is shifted towards the keeper. Below are three ways to help improve your skills when trying to deflect or stop a shot. They will take practice and hands-on experience, but if you are really focused and ready to become a competent goalie, the effort is definitely worth it.

The first step to becoming a good keeper is to know where to be. This is one of the key job steps where you need live experience to know what to do. Your instincts will also pitch in when you are actually in the position.

The second step is not to be afraid. You will often have to dive or come after the ball to make sure an opponent doesn’t score. It is critical that you get there first to head off the ball.

The third and final step to becoming a successful goalie is to become a leader. A goalie can always see the whole field. Most other players cannot. It is your responsibility to speak up and tell other players when a player is coming their way.

"Fast to be healthy"
Fasting has its advantages from the point of view of health and hygiene. Islam wants a Muslim to be healthy, clean, alert, agile and energetic. "Fast to be healthy," had said the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.). And physicians today acknowledge the many benefits of fasting that ensure health and the soundness of one's body and mind. Some of these positive points have a direct influence on psychology and physique of the fasting individual.

Fasting has been found to be an effective treatment for psychological and emotional disorders. It helps a person to firm up his will, cultivate and refine his taste and manners, strengthen his conviction of doing good, avoid controversy, petulance and rashness, which all contribute towards a sane and healthy personality. Besides nurturing resistance and ability to face hardships and endurance, fasting reflects on outward physical appearance by cutting out gluttony and getting rid of excess fat. The benefits of fasting on health do not stop there but are instrumental in alleviating a number of physical diseases, including those of the digestive systems, such as chronic stomachache, inflammation of the colon, liver diseases, indigestion, and conditions such as obesity, arteriosclerosis, high blood pressure, asthma, diphtheria and many other maladies.

"Smoking causes premature death in women"

Women who smoke are likely to suffer a heart attack nearly 15 years earlier than those who don’t, according to a new research.

The data, released at the European Society of Cardiology congress in Munich, also revealed smokers can expect to have a heart attack on average around the age of 66 — although it can occur at a much younger age for some women. But a non-smoking woman could celebrate her 80th birthday before succumbing to an attack. In contrast, men who smoke have a heart attack on average just six years earlier than male non-smokers.

The study shows the stark difference in the health of women in later life when heart disease becomes increasingly important as a cause of lost years through death and disability.

Smoking is the biggest cause of premature death from heart disease, claiming the lives of at least 50,000 women a year.

Here i want to briefly talk about my favorite catoon show, spongebob squarepants.

SpongeBob SquarePants is an Emmy-nominated American animated television series and media franchise. It is currently one of Nickelodeon's and Nicktoons most watched show. In 2007, it was named by TIME as one of the greatest television shows of all time.[1] Although its original network is Nickelodeon, SpongeBob is now broadcast across the world. It was created by artist, animator, and former marine biologist, Stephen Hillenburg, and is produced through his production company, United Plankton Pictures, Inc.

The series is set in the Pacific Ocean, in the fictional city of Bikini Bottom and on the surrounding lagoon floor. The pilot episode first aired in the United States on Nickelodeon after the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards on May 1, 1999. The "official" series premiere followed on July 17, 1999 with the second episode, "Bubblestand/Ripped Pants."

The series star is a character who is a sea sponge, but in shape and color his body more closely resembles a kitchen sponge.

SpongeBob SquarePants is a sea sponge who lives in a pineapple under the sea, while his octopus neighbor, ironically named Squidward Tentacles, lives in a moai. SpongeBob's other neighbor and best friend is a pink starfish named Patrick Star, who lives under a rock. SpongeBob and Patrick live on either side of Squidward Tentacles, much to Squidward's despair. Squidward is constantly annoyed by SpongeBob and Patrick's antics.

How To Improve Speaking Skills In An New Language.....

To most people, speaking is the most difficult part when learning a foreign language. Although everyone knows that the best way to speak a language fluently is to practice speaking as much as possible, not many people can do this.

Firstly, learners often hesitate to speak because they are afraid of pronouncing the words wrongly. In fact it is very difficult to correct a mistake in pronunciation later if you don't pay attention to it from the start. The advice is that you should try to pronounce the words right from the very first lessons. Be patient when pronouncing new words.

Next, you can find short stories in the language you are learning, in books or on the internet and read them aloud at home. In this way you can roughly judge how good your pronunciation is and gain more confidence when speaking to others later.

Lastly,of course the best way to improve your speaking skills is to talk with a native speaker. That also means the best language class is the one which has a native speaker as the teacher. The foreign teacher usually uses only the language being learnt in the class and refuses to speak in any other. Therefore you can become more familiar with the language you are studying because you are forced to speak in it.

Here another my favourite cartoon show, Oggy and The Cockroaches.

Oggy and the Cockroaches (also known as Oggy et les Cafards in French) is a French animated series produced by Gaumont Film Company in 1998, creator of the popular series Space Goofs.

The show centers on Oggy, a content and lazy, albeit very tender fat blue cat, who would usually spend his days watching TV and cooking - if it wasn't for the three pesky roaches in the household: Joey, Dee Dee and Marky (named after members of the punk group Ramones). The trio seems to enjoy generally making Oggy's life miserable, which involves mischief ranging from (in most cases) plundering his fridge to such awkward things like hijacking the train Oggy just boarded.

The cartoon itself relies on slapstick humour, much like its "ancestor", Tom and Jerry, only amplifying the level of extremities up a notch; while "traditional" slapstick cartoon characters prefer dropping anvils and pianos on each other, this show sometimes uses even buses or submarines. Despite these however, most gags are easily accessible and enjoyable for younger viewers.

Eermmm now i want to share with you how to play police and thief game....

1. Firstly, divide yourselves into 2 groups.

2. One group would be the police and the other the thieves.

3. The job of the police would be to catch the thieves who would run away from the police.

4. There would be a 'house' where the thief would be safe from the police. That means they cannot be caught by the police if there are in the 'house'.

5. The police catches a thief by catching hold of the thief and say 1..2..3.. after that, the thief is caught and would be sent to jail.

6. The thief in the jail would not be able to move until he is tagged from another thief.

7. The game ends when the police managed to catch all the thieves.

Rules:
- The police mus count up to 3 before the thief is caught.
- In jail, the thief would not be able to move until he is tagged by another thief.

Free parking for the disabled

THE disabled people living in the Subang Jaya municipality have been urged to apply for free parking stickers at the council.

They are also requested to carry their cards at all time to be eligible for their privileges.

In my opinion, i think that the above issue should bring to the whole country. I think that all the disabled should have the priority to prestige the facilities not just in Subang Jaya, but all over the country.

Government should take the next step for caring the disabled.

Mystery of The Tattooed Mummy

She live and died 1600 years ago..
The Moche didn't embalm their dead. Most corpses decayed normally, leaving bare bones as the only proof of lives extinguished.

A recent autopsy revealed that the tattooed woman had borne at least one child and died in her late 20s. Her untimely demise must have shocked her people, who laid her to rest in full regalia at the peak of a temple where bloody sacrifices were performed.
No other Moche woman like her has ever been found. If so, she may revolutionize ideas about the Moche, whose leaders were believed—until now—to be men.

Do you know about World War 2??

World War II, or the Second World War, was a global military conflict which involved a majority of the world's nations, including all of the great powers, organized into two opposing military alliances: the Allies and the Axis. The war involved the mobilization of over 100 million military personnel, making it the most widespread war in history. In a state of "total war", the major participants placed their complete economic, industrial, and scientific capabilities at the service of the war effort, erasing the distinction between civilian and military resources. Over 70 million people, the majority of them civilians, were killed, making it the deadliest conflict in human history.

The starting date of the war is generally held to be September 1939 with the German invasion of Poland and subsequent declarations of war on Germany by the United Kingdom, France and the British Dominions. However, as a result of other events, many belligerents entered the war before or after this date, during a period which spanned from 1937 to 1941. Amongst these main events are the Marco Polo Bridge Incident, the start of Operation Barbarossa and the attack on Pearl Harbor and British and Netherlands colonies in South East Asia.

The Soviet Union and the United States emerged from the war as the world's leading superpowers. This set the stage for the Cold War, which lasted for the next 45 years. The United Nations was formed in the hope of preventing another such conflict. The self determination spawned by the war accelerated decolonization movements in Asia and Africa, while Western Europe itself began moving toward integration.

Petrol, diesel prices reduced from Saturday

Here's some cheery news. The price of petrol and diesel at the pump will be reduced from Sat, Aug 23.

The price of RON97 petrol will be reduced by 15 sen to RM2.55 a litre from RM2.70, while RON92 will be 22 sen less at RM2.40, from RM2.62.

The premium Shell V-Power Racing will cost 10 sen less per litre, at RM3.05 from RM3.15.

The retail price of diesel will be eight sen less at RM2.50 a litre.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi announced the new prices in a statement after Friday's Cabinet meeting.

He said the prices were determined by taking into account the actual price from Aug 1 to 21 and the 30 sen per litre subsidy borne by the government, while the subsidy for diesel, based on the new price, was 50 sen a litre.

"The cabinet decided to bring forward the enforcement date for adjustment of the new petrol price," he said.

http://star-motoring.com

Why just reduce few cents only why gov increase so many and reduce some?can it reduced to rate RM 1.70/liter for petrol and diesel 1.60/liter that is better for out poor consumer. That at least reduce to Rm2.00 per/liter.

WHY RECYCLE???
What do you think about RECYCLE??

Recycling reduces pollution and saves energy. Making
products from virgin or raw materials results in pollution
and uses more energy.

Recycling is cheaper in the long run compared to maintaining landfills and other systems. When recycling programmes
become more efficient, there will be less rubbish to dispose of.

Have you been thought that which country contains the most intelligent people in the world???.Instead of answering this question,i'm going to tell you why it's stupid one.there is NO such thing as universal intelligence that exists across all societies. Many people think of IQ which stand for intelligence quotient as the best way to measure a person's intelligence. The IQ measure forms of intelligence that are valued in developed countries.Specifically,it measures concentration, memory, verbal skills and mathematical aptitude.Having a large vocabulary or being good at math won't get you hired if there are no jobs to compete for in the first place. The people who are intelligent in those countries are the ones who simply know how to survive. If you placed a Harvard graduate in the middle of the Sahara with no food or water,he/she wouldn't be "intelligent".So,which country contains the most intelligent people in the world??That depends on where you ask the question, because the 'intelligent' people in Malaysia have nothing in common with the 'intelligent' people in Japan.

Pills, pills, pills

NOT too long ago, a doctor wrote about his unforgettable elderly patient who presented to him with giddiness. The patient had a note with a list of drugs, the reason for the drug and by whom it was given. They were as follows:

·Drugs A, B, C and D prescribed by Dr Hart, cardiologist, for heart disease

·Drugs E, F, G and H prescribed by Dr Bone, orthopaedic surgeon, for diabetic foot

·Drugs I, J, K and L prescribed by Dr Glen, endocrinologist, for diabetes

·Drug M was prescribed by all his doctors and he mentioned that it was the most bitter pill to swallow.

Most doctors and patients have been in such sticky situations where polypharmacy (the practice of prescribing too many medications) occurs, with no solution in hand. Elderly patients truly need many drugs as they often have multiple co-existent medical conditions. Sorting out these medical conditions is difficult as they are complex and the symptoms can be hidden, atypical or altered.

Elderly patients have ageing changes which lead to diminished organ reserve (poor adaptation), and this results in vulnerability to diseases and abnormal physiological responses. These aged-related changes sometimes get confused with an actual disease process. Given the difficulties in proper assessment (and correct diagnosis), it is sometimes easier to pacify elderly patients by prescribing drugs rather than engaging in detailed explanation and collaborative decision making about the multiple complex diseases they have.Nowadays, the elderly are getting healthier and they do live longer. The threshold for treating risk factors to prevent diseases is rightly lower. Educated patients will also demand for the latest technologies and newer or better drugs.

Hari Raya Puasa...

Muslims celebrate the festival of Aidilfitri – popularly known as Hari Raya Puasa, or simply Hari Raya (Day of Celebration) in Malaysia – to mark the culmination of Ramadhan, the holy month of fasting.

Fasting during the month of Ramadhan is compulsory or wajib, whereby Muslims are required to abstain from satisfying their most basic needs and urges, daily, between sunrise and sunset. It is one of the five tenets of Islam; as is the paying of zakat (alms tax for the poor), which must be tithed by the end of Ramadhan.

Aidilfitri is celebrated for the whole month of Syawal, but in Malaysia, only the first two days are observed as public holidays. It is widely common however, to see Muslims taking the first week off from work.

now a day..petrol become more expensive than before.. so an alternative to replace the fuel by using biofuel... do you know what is the meaning of 'biofuel'?do you know it?

biofuel is simple meaning is defined as the solid, liquid or gas fuel derived from recently dead biological material and is distinguished from fossil fuels, which are derived from long dead biological material. biofuel can be produce from any carbon source, such as photosynthetic plant is commonly use as biofuel...

biofuel possible of producing energy without a net increase carbon into the atmosphere. This is because the production of the CO2 from the atmosphere but fossile fuel return carbon that was stored beneath the surface for millions of years back into the atmosphere.. biofuel less likely to increase atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases....
two common strategies of producing biofuels:
to grow crops high in sugar and the use yeast fermentation to produce ethanol.
to grow a plant that contain high amount of vegetables oils, such as oil palm, soybean, algae, or jatropha.
When these oil are heated, their viscosity is reduced and they can be burned directly in a diesel engine, or they can be chemically processed to produced fuels such as biodiesel. Woods and its byproduct can be converted into biofuels such as wood gass, methanol or ethanol fuel. it is possible to make cellulosic ethanol from non-edible plant parts, but it is difficult to do economically...

to know more about biofuel, you can search at google... i found this article in wikiedia... biofuel is important base on our situatin righ now that is price of fuel increases and the fuel supplies such as petroleum will run out.. so alternative fuel need to be find to replace the petrol that is not renewable source...

I would like to comment Muhamad Faizal Bin Abd Ghani comment’s about bio fuel. First of all, we must take this so important. It is because in our life, this will be one of our problems that we need to solve. As an engineer in mechanical, fuel is the most important thing especially in generates energy.bio fuel is the alternative energy today will be the most important thing letter because petroleum will run out letter. Beside bio fuel, the popular solution to generate energy is nuclear reactor. Even the cost to build the reactor is so high, but the power that can be generated is very low cost. In my opinion the nuclear reactor is only for industrial, not for war. Everything is we used it for the wrong path, will destroy our life. So people should thing positive to create the technology for our nation…

just now... i talked about the biofuel.. and rightnow i want to talk about biodiesel.. iit is related with biofuel...in europe the biodiesel is most common compare with other biofuel...it is produced from oils or fats using transesterification and is a liquid similar in composition to fossil...oils are mix with sodium hydroxide and methanol and the chemical reaction produce biodiesel and glyserol... pure biodiesel is by far the lowest emission diesel fuel..

biodiesel can be usie in any diesel engine when mixed with mineral diesel.. mostly of vehicle manufacturers recomment that 15% biodiesel mix with mineral diesel...since biodiesel is an effective solvent and cleans residues deposited by mineral diesel, engine filtered may not be replaced more often, as biofuel dissolve old deposite in the fuel tank and pipes. the engine combustion chamber will be clean effectively and helping to maintain efficiency. in european country is widely use and available ot thousand of gas stations. biodiesel also contains a reduced amount of carbon and higher hydrogen and oxygen content than fossil diesel that is called oxygenated fuel...

in usa this type of fuel is widely increase year by year..

This biodiesel much better than fossil diesel, in other countries is already use this type of fuel...so why dont malaysia also use this fuel, it is useful and cheaper and also deacrease the amount of using fossil diesel...

Such have a degree, pHD in Harvard university or have a bundle of certificate improve that you are so claver. Such like Sufiah yusof. Are her intelligent for you?

NEVERENDING STORY

The book centers on a boy, Bastian Balthazar Bux, who meets a mysterious man who owns a small antique bookstore and steals a book from it called The Neverending Story, which he reads.

The book begins in Fantastica (Phantásien in the German novels; Fantasia in the films), when a "will-o'-the-wisp" goes to ask the Childlike Empress for help against the Nothing, which is spreading over the land. The Empress herself is ill, which is believed to be the cause of the Nothing (or vice versa); she sends the only person that can stop the Nothing, a boy warrior named Atreyu, to find a cure for her. Atreyu is a brave person, but everyone thought he was a man even though he is a young boy.

While on his quest, Atreyu meets characters such as Benjamin, Uyulala, and the gnomes Urgl and Engywook. Atreyu also meets Falkor, the luckdragon, who helps him along the way. After Falkor accidentally drops Atreyu in Spook City, Atreyu meets G'mork the werewolf, who has been following Atreyu since the early days of his quest, intending to kill him. G'mork soon dies; Falkor and Atreyu leave Spook City to find the Ivory Tower, where the Childlike Empress lives. The Childlike Empress reveals that the only thing that can save Fantastica is a human child, who must give her a new name to start again the cycle of life in Fantastica.

Bastian comes to Fantastica by naming the Empress 'Moon Child'; she asks him to help re-build Fantastica with his imagination and he subsequently has many adventures of his own in his new world. With the help of the Auryn, a Gem that links him to the Empress and gives him power over all the inhabitants of Fantastica, Bastian explores the Desert of Colors, battles the evil Xayide, and meets the three Deep Thinkers. Bastian becomes friends with Atreyu, although their rivalry leads to a fight in which Atreyu is wounded. Bastian thereafter is corrupted by Xayide, who drives him to a lust for power. He is defeated in his attempt to start a coup d'état against the Childlike Empress.

Eventually, Bastian and Atreyu reunite and Bastian soon returns home. He decides to return the book to its owner, Carl Conrad Coreander, but the book disappears after Bastian returns from Fantastica. He explains this to Carl Conrad Coreander, who is interested in Bastian's adventures and wants to keep in touch to talk about them.

The Life and strange and surprising Adventures of Robinson Crusoe.

Daniel Defoe’s most famous novel was published in 1719 with the full title, The Life and strange and surprising Adventures of Robinson Crusoe. It is based, in fact, upon the experiences of Alexander Selkirk who had run away to sea in 1704 and requested to be left on an uninhabited island to be rescued five years later. Defoe himself was in his late fifties when he wrote the book, which is often considered to be the first English novel. Crusoe ends up on a desert island in the manner of Selkirk. With only a few supplies from the ship he builds a house, a boat and a new life. His island is not wholly uninhabited, though, and there is the exciting but ominous presence of cannibals who Crusoe occasionally encounters and saves a native from. The latter becomes his servant, Man Friday. The crew of a mutinying ship finally rescue our hero, but it is his adventure on the island that interests us. The story has remained popular ever since its publication and it spawned two sequels: later in 1719 with The Farther Adventures of Robinson Crusoe and a third part, The Serious Reflections of Robinson Crusoe, in 1720 which consisted of moral essays. The first novel, though, is particularly notable for its detailed verisimilitude allowing us to believe in the situation - something assisted by the uncomplicated language used by the author.

A Herald announces the arrival of the Prince, who, armed with the glass slipper, has begun to search far and wide for his mysterious love. Cinderella's suspicious Stepmother orders Cinderella out of the house so that she won't ruin Portia and Joy’s chances with the Prince. Nightmares?????

Nightmares are dreams with a disturbing content. I like to distinguish the following categories:

1. Nightmares that are frightening during the dream.
2. Violent dreams, however without the expected level of pain or fear.
3. Dreams that become nightmares after waking up.

The first category is very common and often involves chases by some dark unseen enemy. The advice in popular dreaming literature is to realize to confront your enemy in your dreams. More on this follows in a next chapter.

The second category is more disturbing than frightening. Violence in dreams can symbolize psychological problems or the resolving of a particular problem, but when you're ill it is just as likely to represent the physical problems you're dealing with. For example, I see my own dreams about being stabbed in the back as a symbol for how I feel betrayed by suddenly getting a disease. There does not seem to be any reason for this disease and there is no known cause or explanation. But most of my violence dreams show a direct relationship to my physical condition. The more violence, the higher the need for me to get some drastic rest immediately.

I have no idea how common the third category is. I'm thinking here about dreams that suddenly make you realize things about yourself that aren't always flattering, or dreams that show you possible scenarios of future events you weren't prepared for.

When the couple had a baby the witch came and took the girl and called her Rapunzel. The witch put her into a high tower that did not have a door. It only had a small window at the top. The witch would come every morning and climb up Rapunzel’s hair to get into the tower.

One day a Prince came by and heard Rapunzel’s song. He watched the witch and learned how to get into the tower. Later he climbed into the tower on Rapunzel’s hair. They became friends and decided to get married.

The witch found out and cut off Rapunzel’s hair and took her to a desert. When the Prince came the witch was waiting for him. The Prince fell into a thorn bush and he became blinded by the thorns.

He wandered around for years until he found Rapunzel. Her tears fell into the Prince’s eyes and he was able to see again. They returned to his castle and were married.

Sleeping Problems

I would like to make some explained about problems to separate waking and dreaming realities. No doubt that fear to be labeled as (slightly) insane also is an issue.

Drawing from my own experience, I can come up with the following observations that may be of help to others:

* Sleeping problems can in a nasty way interfere with the transgression between the dreaming reality and the waking reality. If it feels like you awake every other minute, it is possible you have something on your mind that bothers you. The last thing you need is intruding and confusing memories of dreams. Also, because you wake up so often, you may remember much and much more of your dreams then you're accustomed too. Personally I'm at ease with remembering many of my dreams, but being continuously thrown around between dreaming and waking states is an entirely different matter.

If you are aware of something bothering you, you may have found a solution to your sleep problem. For example, I can get into this type of sleeping / dreaming problem when I try to force myself standing up while my body refuses and insists on sleeping for a few hours longer.

* Fever (and perhaps medication too - I don't know) can make things even worse, generating endlessly repeating images that feel a maddening torture.

* Vivid dreams can be unsettling because they challenge your normal view of the world and may have you fear for you sanity. Here at last I can offer some comfort: as long as you don't start hallucinating during the normal daily activities, I don't think there is anything to be afraid of.

THE PEARL

The Pearl is a 1947 novella by American author John Steinbeck. Like his father and grandfather before him, Kino is a poor diver, gathering pearls from the Gulf beds that once brought great wealth to Spain and now provided Kino, Juana, and their infant son Coyotito, with meagre subsistence.

Then, on one day like any other, Coyotito gets stung by a scorpion. Kino can't pay for a doctor to heal Coyotito, so he searches for a pearl. Kino then emerges from the sea with a pearl as large as a seagull's egg, as "perfect as the moon." With the pearl comes hope, the promise of comfort and of security at the cost of defying the system

A story about a Mexican folk tale, The Pearl explores the secrets of man's nature, the darkest depths of evil, and the disastrous effects of stepping out of the established system. Due to the novella's negative portrayal of opportunity and ambition, many suspect that, like much of his work, it advocates socialism. The novel is still widely read and fairly popular with English teachers but not students.

LONDON (Reuters) - A couple have been reunited with their missing cat after nine years, the RSPCA said on Wednesday.

Dixie, a 15-year-old ginger cat, disappeared in 1999 and her owners thought she had been killed by a car.
She was found less than half a mile from her home in Birmingham after a concerned resident rang the animal charity to report a thin and dishevelled cat who had been in the area for a couple of months.
RSPCA Animal Collection Officer Alan Pittaway checked her microchip and confirmed it was Dixie. She was returned to her owners, Alan and Gilly Delaney, within half an hour.
"In 29 years of working for the RSPCA I have never seen anyone so excited and happy as Mrs Delaney," Pittaway said. "It made my day to return Dixie to her owners."
The couple were "overjoyed" to be reunited with their missing cat after so many years.
"Dixie's personality, behaviour and little mannerisms have not changed at all," said Gilly Delaney. "We don't think she has stopped purring since she came back through the door."
The RSPCA hope the story will encourage owners to have their pets microchipped.

HOW TO SCORE GOOD MARKS

There are some tips and trick that will help you a lot in preparation for the board exams. Try to study at least four subjects out of total five per day. This will keep your memory sharp for all subjects. Then spend one hour for a single subject. It means, you give four hours daily for your all four subjects. But don’t study continuously. Just make schedule like that, study for one hour for a subject dedicatedly. Take a small break. In a break you can talk to your friend but don’t discuss about study. You can watch TV also and watch only that program that you like most. Then, again come to study and give one hour for second subject and study dedicatedly. Don’t think about movie or other thing. Just concentrate completely on your study.

The most important thing that you have to implement in your all time study that you have to study with your full confident. Don’t get tension. It can result in for getting things that you know very well. Keep studying with fresh mind every time after you take a break. Studying in morning is very beneficial as compare to late night study. Studying in morning can be quite difficult but soon you will get habitual for that you will find more interest in studying.

Malaysia Boleh!!!

I often see people complain about Malaysia Boleh.

There's nothing wrong about Malaysia Boleh.

It is an act to heighten our spirit of being Malaysian and making Malaysia being known in the world as an "able nation". This in turn would bring about positive result/returns to our country.

I do sometimes have doubts about some acts of Malaysia Boleh. I think they are just lack of ideas and being desperate.

So would it be nice if we could have a place where we can share ideas with others and the govt what we should be doing about "Malaysia Boleh" and people can vote on it.

E.g. Every malaysian will reduce power consumption for ONE day e.g. switch off the light when not in-used, turn off the extra air-con. On the next day, the power company will show how much energy and money we safe for the day and the pollution we reduce due to lower power generation.

Healthy Measures For Smokers

I would like to give my opinion on the movement to say "Tak Nak" to cigarettes. Research shows that most smokers cannot quit smoking easily since it is an addiction.

The Government, instead of increasing prices or taxes over tobacco products, could can request tobacco manufacturers to insert special "cigarette tar/ nicotine filters" in each box as a choice for smokers. This in turn would reduce the risk of a smoker's health. 90% of smokers will still buy packets of cigarette even the price is increased.

This also will prevent manufacturer from getting involving in a price war as they want their brand to be puffed the most. Manufactuer would also, in a way, be giving smokers a chance to choose a less hazardous way to smoke.

Overall, we would get a much healthier "Rakyat Malaysia". The "Tak Nak" campaign should continue in any case.

Mat Rempit?

I do not know why this is happening but I seriously do not think giving those illegal bikers a name (Mat Rempit) is actually helping the situation. It is as if giving them recognition for their action in the country. There are architects, doctors, lawyers, publisher, bowler, cyclist, and today we have `mat rempit'? Why give them such recognition and of all we know they're right behind there laughing in pride when the authorities call them by that. Why not just call them, traffic offenders, criminals? However we might think this is damaging to their pride and as much as we want to see these youth as hope of the nation, we don't call robbers `robin hood', we don't call car racers the `fast and furious' or assasin `terminators' do we?

A lot of the confusion begins with the caffeine content found in coffee. It is the caffeine that makes coffee such a stimulating drink. Caffeine gives you a quick energy boost and may even help you focus more on what you are doing and can help you remember details a little better. But caffeine has also been shown to cause health risks when consumed in large amounts. Taking a more cautious stance on the suggested amounts of caffeine that can safely consumed however, many health experts do recommend a limiting of no more than 3 cups of caffeinated coffee per day for coffee drinkers, and reducing caffeine intake from other beverages like tea and soda

Gourmet coffee is derived from the seed or bean of the Arabica coffee plant. It has far less caffeine content than the coffee that is made from the seeds of other varieties of the coffee plant.

The gourmet coffee bean used in the brewing of gourmet coffee for drinking, is full of antioxidants that give radicals us protection against the radicals that are present in our bodies and that can make us sick and even make us more susceptible to major conditions like heart disease and cancers.

The antioxidant properties in gourmet coffee can help the body to fight off the harmful affects of the pesticide residuals and added substances we ingest from the foods and beverages we consume. Antioxidants help the body to neutralize these radicals before they become serious and deadly diseases. Caffeine give energy, but the other properties in the gourmet coffee bean and present in the coffee interact with chemicals in the brain to elevate mood, and improve powers of concentration and comprehension.

The health benefits gained by drinking gourmet coffee far outweigh the risks associated with caffeine consumption when you take care not to take more caffeine than is recommended. Two or three cups of gourmet coffee a day didn’t give bad effect to our health but be aware in taking amount of caffeinated drinks to control the level of caffeine in the body..

Migraine

Migraine is a neurological syndrome characterized by altered bodily experiences, painful headaches, and nausea. It is a common condition which affects women more frequently than men.

The typical migraine headache is one-sided and pulsating, lasting 4 to 72 hours. Accompanying complaints are nausea and vomiting, and a heightened sensitivity to bright lights (photophobia) and noise (hyperacusis).Approximately one third of people who experience migraines get a preceding aura, in which a patient may sense a strange light or unpleasant smell.

Although the exact cause of migraine remains unknown, the most widespread theory is that it is a disorder of the serotonergic control system. Recently, PET scans have demonstrated the aura to coincide with spreading cortical depression after an episode of greatly increased blood flow (up to 300% higher than baseline). There also appear to be migraine variants that originate in the brainstem and involve dysfunction in calcium and potassium ion transport between cell membranes. Genetic factors may also contribute.Studies on twins show that genes have a 60 to 65% influence on the development of migraine.Fluctuating hormone levels show a relation to migraine in several ways: three quarters of adult migraine patients are female while migraine affects approximately equal numbers of boys and girls before puberty,[citation needed] and migraine is known to disappear during pregnancy in a substantial number of sufferers.

The treatment of migraine begins with simple painkillers for headache and anti-emetics for nausea, and avoidance of triggers if present. Specific anti-migraine drugs can be used to treat migraine. If the condition is severe and frequent enough, preventative drugs might be considered.

"Attitude is the key to success"

We all want success in life. We want success in our home life, business life, and in our relationships with others. The most important single factor that guarantees our success in every aspect of our lives is having a positive attitude. Without a positive attitude success is not possible. Earl Nightingale call attitude "the magic word."

You will never attract positive things into your life if all of your thoughts are negative. Just as a magnet attracts anything metal our minds attract the things we think about most. Your mind will always seek to turn the things you think about most into physical reality. Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, "A man becomes what he thinks about, most of the time."

Everyone of us has two different minds, the conscious and the subconscious. The conscious mind is our thinking, which uses logic, deduction, reason, and sound judgement to make its decisions. Your choices in life are made by the conscious mind.

The subconscious mind lies outside your conscious mind. It has access to data, information, and ideas outside your own experience. Your subconscious mind works 24 hours a day and it is the source of all examples of pure creativity, problem solving, and goal achievement. It is a magical part of your mind. The part of your mind where genius lies.

Our subconscious mind is not able to distinguish between postive and negative thoughts. So, if you tell yourself something often enough your subconscious will eventually come to believe it. If you repeat something often enough whether it be positive or negative it will become your reality. This is because your subconscious mind constantly strives to attract the material equivalent of your most frequent and prominent thoughts.

It is impossible for a negative mind to attract positive things. If you're thinking about problems constantly you will find them. Is it possible to overcome negative and pessimistic thinking with postive thoughts? You bet it is! And it's someting which can be easily learned.

It's all a matter of conditioning. You can train your mind to think positive thoughts the same way you can learn anything else. The way to do this, is to remove any negative thoughts one at a time until there are none left. And for each negative thought that you remove, you then plant a new and positive thought in its place. You then nurture those positive thoughts until there is no room for any negative thoughts to grow. Then, make a habit of stopping a negative thought any time it appears and replacing it with a postive thought. For example, replace, "I can't do it" with "I can do it" and you'll find your attitude and your life will greatly improve.

Positive thoughts will lead you to financial success and it will help you find the true riches of life for yourself and your family. So whatever it is in life that you want, you must begin today to become a "positive thinker." Once you do this your future success will be unlimited.

THE BENEFIT OF FASTING...

Fasting is known to be beneficial to the health and provides a break in the cycle of rigid habits or overindulgence. However, in our emphasis on refraining from food, drink, and marital relations during
the daylight hours, we should not forget many other important as-pects of this sacred time.

Many medical professionals recognize that fasting is beneficial to our health. It provides a break in the cycle of rigid habits and gives some of our internal organs much-needed rest. However, in our emphasis on refraining from food, drink, and marital relations during the daylight hours, we should not forget many other important aspects of this sacred time. Perhaps, it would help us to remember not only the physical act of fasting, but also its underlying purpose:

O you who believe, fasting is decreed for you, as it was decreed for those before you, that you may attain salvation. (2:183)

"9.5 Seconds"

Asafa Powell forecast on Friday the 100 metres world record could be cut to as low as 9.5 seconds in 2009.

Powell, speaking ahead of this weekend’s world athletics final, has seen his previous world record of 9.74 lowered twice this year by fellow Jamaican Usain Bolt, who ran 9.69 to take the Olympic title, with Powell well back in fifth.

Bolt has already ended his season and will not be racing in Stuttgart, but Powell believes the event is not only about his younger rival.

”Wherever Usain takes (the record), I’ll be there right with him,” he said.

”When I ran 9.74 I thought my limit would be 9.69. Then when Usain ran 9.69 after stopping 20 metres before the finish, it’s obviously possible to go even faster. I think 9.6 is possible. I think next year you’ll see 9.5.”

Powell, who has won the past three editions of the world athletics final, has displayed strong late season form, running 9.83 or faster four times in the past 10 days, including a personal best of 9.72.

An extra incentive is a $100,000 bonus for a world record, offered on top of the $30,000 first place prize.

In all, 21 Olympic champions are on show this weekend, lured by a total prize purse of $3 million. Among the most eagerly-awaited duels will be the men’s 400 metres which features Olympic champion LaShawn Merritt against the man he succeeded, Jeremy Wariner.

The women’s 400 sees a re-match between Olympic champion Christine Ohuruogu of Britain and American Sanya Richards who will be chasing a fourth straight world athletics final title.

The women’s 100m hurdles also stages a re-match between Olympic champion Dawn Harper and the year’s fastest, Lolo Jones.

Jones was a strong pre-Olympic favourite, but ruined her chance when she hit the penultimate hurdle in the final, finishing seventh.

Animal crackers

Interacting with animals is always fun. One group found out just how fun it is when they visited the Elephant Sanctuary and the Deerland Park.

Animals make our lives richer and more interesting. And some of their antics will crack us up, especially the children.

Recently a group of 20 Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) members spent a fascinating weekend at two animal centres in the Bukit Rengit State Park, Pahang, and got the opportunity to interact with many birds and animals in an environment that was somewhere between wild and domesticated.

We fed, patted, and even cuddled some of the free-roaming large animals like elephants and deer!

The place receive many day-trippers, especially those en route to Taman Negara. Since we wanted to spend more time here, we decided to stay two nights at the Bukit Rengit ICB (Institute of Conservation Biodiversity), which is, first and foremost, a training and research centre as well as a venue for conferences and workshops relating to wildlife.

The ICB is open to regular tourists and nature lovers. Its attraction lies in its proximity to two important wildlife centres: the Elephant Sanctuary at the Kuala Gandah Field Station (KGFS), and Deerland Park, 2km down the road from it.

Take early action

Osteoarthritis may seem to be just a symptom of ageing, but like any medical condition, it needs medical attention.

IF you have known or lived with men and women nearing their retirement age or beyond, you will find many who have experienced the agony of muscle and joint pain.

Their complaints are strikingly similar. Common grouses include pain in their elbows after lifting heavy objects, pain in their knees after a day on their feet and inability to bend down or squat. Some even have difficulty in bending their fingers or reaching for things on higher shelves.

Unlike chest pain, pain in the muscle and joints is often accepted as part and parcel of ageing. It does not create the urgency for those who experience them to consult a doctor immediately – at least not until the pain becomes unbearable and their daily lives are affected.

However, if you are above 50 and have joint pains, the bad news is that you may have some form of arthritis (arthro: joint; itis: inflammation). The good news is, you don’t have to worry about joint replacements yet if you get appropriate treatment early.

“Osteoarthritis (OA) is one of the major causes of disability around the globe that is affecting mankind physically, mentally, socially and financially,” said consultant orthopaedic surgeon Dr Saket Jati.

While rheumatoid arthritis are mostly seen in people about 12 to 40 years of age, people who have osteoarthritis are mostly above 35, said Dr Jati.

In Malaysia, an estimated 60% of the population will have some form of arthritis by the age of 60, particularly osteoarthritis (more than 20%). Rheumatoid arthritis (RA), on the other hand, affects 1% of our population and can affect all age groups.

As there is no cure for osteoarthritis yet, conventional treatments are aimed at giving patients the means to achieve pain-control, increase mobility and maintain a good quality of life. Early diagnosis is the first step in ensuring appropriate treatment.

Heart Attack

What is a heart attack?
A heart attack occurs when the blood supply to part of the heart muscle itself — the myocardium — is severely reduced or stopped. The reduction or stoppage happens when one or more of the coronary arteries supplying blood to the heart muscle is blocked. This is usually caused by the buildup of plaque (deposits of fat-like substances), a process called atherosclerosis. The plaque can eventually burst, tear or rupture, creating a "snag" where a blood clot forms and blocks the artery. This leads to a heart attack.

If the blood supply is cut off for more than a few minutes, muscle cells suffer permanent injury and die. This can kill or disable someone, depending on how much heart muscle is damaged.

Sometimes a coronary artery temporarily contracts or goes into spasm. When this happens the artery narrows and blood flow to part of the heart muscle decreases or stops. We're not sure what causes a spasm. A spasm can occur in normal-appearing blood vessels as well as in vessels partly blocked by atherosclerosis. A severe spasm can cause a heart attack.

The medical term for heart attack is myocardial infarction. A heart attack is also sometimes called a coronary thrombosis or coronary occlusion.

No matter what's happening, friends will always be the first for us to meet with. Although they can't solve every problems that we are facing, but at least there's somebody is sharing with us. However, we should beware of making friend with others. We need to declare the 'friend' before we are friend. Some may make your life turn into bad way and teach you the bad things.

why do we have to speak their language when we are in our country??? it is vital for students to improve their international language (English),but somehow, our malay language is important too which we have to make it a prior in our own place...when we go travelling,we learn the other nations languages instead of asking their help using our language...as for me,english is vital for learning, but we shall make prior of our own mother-tongue language...

Convincing... Is an adjective words.
To convince in something we must be confident... To be confident we must do convincing thing that can convince us to do the convincing thing... It sounds complex... But that is how I described it... Heheh I am technical person... To make it simple convincing is hard to do... The faith in ourselves(our God too) is really important element in this thing.

To make people believe in my words, I have to make my own backup for my own statement. It is like playing chess which we have to have strong strategy to win the game. We must understood well to convince others. The characteristics that we show also have to be honest. Obviously, how can we trust a criminal?? That is just an opinion..

Hari Raya

Hari Raya Aidilfitri (also Hari Raya Puasa, literally "Celebration Day of Fasting") is the Malay term for the Muslim festival of Eid ul-Fitr. Hari Raya is also known as Lebaran. Muslims in Brunei, Malaysia and Singapore celebrate Eid like other Muslims throughout the world. The term "Hari Raya" literally means "Day of Celebration" — it is also occasionally used to refer to Eid ul-Adha in the form of "Hari Raya Aidiladha". The main greeting used by Muslims in Malaysia and Singapore is "Selamat Hari Raya" which means "Happy Eid" in Malay. Another greeting is "maaf zahir dan batin" which translates loosely to "I seek forgiveness (from you) physically and spiritually", for Hari Raya is a time to reconcile and renew relationships with others.

Balik kampung is a great tradition. It helps renew our ties and relationship with other members of our parent's family and relatives. And if we really come from the kampungs, it would remind us of our past, our bucolic antecedents and the simple life that we lead.

Malays and Chinese alike religiously practise this great tradition. The cities and towns would become very quiet, the streets almost empty and the air free of smoke and dust.

My regret is that many who take to the roads to balik kampung will never reach home. They would die in unfortunate road accidents. Instead of their relatives welcoming them with joy and love, their Hari Raya or Chinese New Year would be a sad one as they mourn their bereavements.

We had expected the International Court of Justice to declare that Pulau Batu Putih is ours, together with South Ledge and Middle Rocks.

But the decision of the Court left me flabbergasted. On the one hand Pulau Batu Putih which is nearer Malaysia and very much farther from Singapore is awarded to Singapore while the two rocks which are part of the same shoal and further away from Malaysia than Pulau Batu Putih are awarded to Malaysia.

No decision was made as to the marine boundary. It must be assumed that the shoals are in Malaysian territorial waters, since the decision to give Pulau Batu Putih to Singapore is based on some obscure letter written by a minor Johor official while under British rule to a British official in Singapore. Rightly it should have been sanctioned and written under the authority of the Sultan in Council.

Affirmative action by its very nature must involve discrimination.

Affirmative action is about correcting imbalances between groups. But in the process, the interest of individuals would have to be sacrificed. It is unfortunate for the individual concerned but if no one's interest is to be sacrificed then corrections cannot be made. The status quo would remain and this would mean there would be no affirmative action. Simply said, no corrective action would be possible unless there is some discrimination against someone.

Golf is a great game. But like other games the poorer players would be given handicaps. Otherwise golf would be very boring as the good golfers win every time.

Something strange is happening in Malaysian politics. Suddenly there is a lot of talk about cooperation and even merger between UMNO and PAS. Friendly and unfamiliar sounds are being heard from all sides.

I wonder whether it is a sudden concern about the need for Malay unity or it is the realisation that both PAS and UMNO have become very weak. True PAS has won more seats in Parliament than it had ever done before. It has even won control over the State of Kedah. But PAS is the weakest party in the opposition coalition or Pakatan Rakyat. This cannot be what PAS aimed for when it decided to soft pedal its Islamic State ambition in order to work with DAP and PKR.

PAS must want to replace UMNO as the dominant party in Malaysia. But despite its success in the 2008 General Election it is not even dominant in the opposition coalition.

Malaysia is a country which practices the rule of law. Our laws must cover every aspect of our societal life, so we will know exactly what we can do and what we cannot do. Prime Ministers in particular must have everything spelt out for them in this respect. This will enable them to be charged if they had breached the rule of law long after they had retired.

Governments, serving Prime Ministers and Ministers are well placed to initiate action against others. But when the Government, the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister do something wrong, like cover-ups for example, then police reports may be made against them. But how can the person reporting be sure that the police will investigate without fear or favour.

why recyle ???

We produce over 15,000 tons of rubbish everyday. It is only a matter of time before we run out of space to dispose of them. Recycling reduces waste, which in turn reduces the need for landfills and dumpsites.

Recycling reduces pollution and saves energy. Making
products from virgin or raw materials results in pollution
and uses more energy.

Recycling improves cleanliness and quality of life.

so let us to start recycle from now and love our earth together.

regarding to what i had posted in the previous comment that discuss about recycle. now i would like to talk about how to recycle...

Recycling is a pretty simple concept that is take something that isn't useful anymore and make it into something new instead of just throwing it away.

Recycling can take many forms. On a small scale, any time you find a new use for something old, you're recycling. One example is making old cereal boxes into magazine holders .

so, recycle not necessary have to carry through a big process, we can just start from a small things jus like what had stated above .

Almost a month I need to finish up the task not because of the software, but because of the microphone's problem. It is hardly to get a good one at the language laboratory. But lastly I manage to finish up the task with a good grade..hmmm..

Just want to share. For the oral task, I think the hardest word for me to pronounce is 'lead wire'. I got just above the green line with my 58th trial. It seems very easy word.

I learn many words from the software and how to pronounce the words. It is a good software..=)

now is hari raya puasa,so many food we can get in this month such as ketupat and lemang.

Lemang is a traditional food, originating with the Minangkabau people of Indonesia and Malaysia, which is cooked in a hollowed bamboo stick lined with banana leaf to prevent the rice from sticking to the bamboo. Usually prepared for festivities such as Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Hari Raya Haji, lemang is made of glutinous rice and coconut milk, with salt added for taste. Some lemang recipes add corn. Lemang is usually eaten with rendang. Lemang is also popularly eaten with durian; unsurprisingly the demand for lemang increases dramatically in West Sumatra after durian are harvested. Lemang has been the official food identity of the state of Negeri Sembilan.
Lemang is also popular in Indonesian Malay and Minangkabau communities, usually eaten by tapai. Due to the great numbers of Minangese people outside West Sumatera, Lemang now can also be found in other regions of Indonesia like Jakarta and Bandung.

AIRBAG

An airbag is part of a vehicle's safety restraint system, a flexible envelope designed for rapid inflation in an automobile collision, to prevent vehicle occupants from striking hard interior objects such as steering wheels. It is considered a "passive" safety component not requiring any input or action from the user, rather than an "active" component — such as a seat belt, which requires fastening.

Various manufacturers have over time used different terms for airbags. General Motors' first bags, in the 1970s, were marketed as the Air Cushion Restraint System. Common terms in North America include Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) and Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR); these terms reflect the airbag system's nominal role as a supplement to active restraints (i.e., seat belts).

The efficacy of airbags in saving lives and preventing injuries is a controversial subject. One study, cited below, puts the number at just under 400 per year (6,000 total), and another study indicates that airbags reduce fatalities by 8% when seat belts are worn.

Great rewards after fasting
EID Mubarak! I’m sure we are still in the festive season celebrating Aidilfitri all week. In fact all of us, especially Muslims, have good reason to celebrate it.

To begin with, the Muslims completed fasting in the month of Ramadan; and most of them were united with their parents and families during Eid celebrations.

At times we take all the good things that we enjoy daily for granted, without thinking that there are some who do not even have enough for themselves, let alone families. Fasting and giving alms to the poor help to educate.

Let us take this blessed opportunity during Eid to foster stronger kinship. We should forgive, and seek forgiveness for our shortcomings.

What you know about tugu negara?

Tugu Negara, literally the "National Monument" in Malay, is a sculpture that commemorates those who died in Malaysia's struggle for freedom, principally against the Japanese occupation during World War II and the Malayan Emergency , which lasted from 1948 until 1960. It is located in the Federal capital, Kuala Lumpur. The Malaysian Houses of Parliament is situated near the monument.

The monument depicts a group of soldiers holding the Malaysian national flag, the Jalur Gemilang, aloft. Each of the bronze figures symbolizes leadership, suffering, unity, vigilance, strength, courage and sacrifice.

Every year on July 31, Hari Pahlawan (Heroes Day), the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the Prime Minister and heads of military and the police would pay their respects to the fallen heroes by laying garlands at the monument.

Constructed in 1966, the monument is 15 meters ( 49.21 feet) tall, made of bronze and was designed by Austrian sculptor Felix de Weldon, who was also responsible for the famed USMC War Memorial in Virginia, United States.

The granite base of the monument bears only inscriptions in English with Roman script and Malay with Jawi script:

"Dedicated to the heroic fighters in the cause of peace and freedom,
May the blessing of Allah be upon them"

In 27 August 1975, the monument suffered extensive damage due to an explosion set off by a communist terrorist. It has since been restored to its original state on 11 May 1977. A fence was then erected and the complex was declared a protected area between sunset and dawn. Every day at dusk, a soldier raises the national flag and lowers it at dawn.

Thai Stocks, Baht, Bonds Drop as Police Clash With Protesters
Oct. 7 (Bloomberg) -- Thai stocks, the baht and bonds fell as police clashed with protesters surrounding parliament, deepening concern the political crisis will speed an exit by overseas investors.

The benchmark stock index slid to its lowest in more than five years and the baht dropped to a three-week low after police this morning dispersed thousands of protesters who tried to prevent new Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat from presenting his administration's policies to lawmakers. Clashes resumed in the afternoon as demonstrators sought to prevent members from leaving parliament.

ketupat

Ketupat (not to be confused with Lontong) is a type of dumpling from Indonesia, Brunei, Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines (where it is known by the name Patupat in Kapampangan. Puso in Cebuano, or Ta'mu in Tausug), made from rice that has been wrapped in a woven palm leaf pouch which is then boiled. As the rice cooks, the grains expand to fill the pouch and the rice becomes compressed. This method of cooking gives the ketupat its characteristic form and texture of a rice dumpling. Ketupat is usually eaten with rendang (a type of dry beef curry) or served as an accompaniment to satay. Ketupat is also traditionally served by Indonesians, Moros and Malays at open houses on festive occasions such as Idul Fitri (Hari Raya Aidilfitri). During Idul Fitri in Indonesia, ketupat is often served with chicken curry, accompanied with spicy soy powder. Among Filipinos, puso is also traditionally used as a pabaon or a mobile meal, traditionally brought by workers as a type of packed lunch, served with any selection of stews.

There are many varieties of ketupat, with two of the more common ones being ketupat nasi and ketupat pulut. Ketupat nasi is made from white rice and is wrapped in a square shape with coconut palm leaves while ketupat pulut is made from glutinous rice is usually wrapped in a triangular shape using the leaves of the fan palm (Licuala). Ketupat pulut is also called "ketupat daun palas" in Malaysia.

In Indonesia, ketupat sometimes boiled in thin coconut milk and spices to enhance the taste.

Local stories passed down through the generations have attributed the creation of this style of rice preparation to the seafarers' need to keep cooked rice from spoiling during long sea voyages. The coco leaves used in wrapping the rice are always shaped into a triangular form and stored hanging in bunches in the open air. The shape of the package facilitates moisture to drip away from the cooked rice while the coco leaves allow the rice to be aerated and at the same time prevent flies and insects from touching it.

Mystery of the missing bus stop shelters solved

I refer to the news dated September 19, 2008.

I just don't get what is the purpose of spending irrelevant money to do research on bus stop. Again, these money are shouldn't spend such way.

Why we don't look across the country for the available source for a solution. Doing own research, i do believe that this may end up with a stupid unreliable design again.

Dear Malaysian, please look into Singapore, see their developement, see their bus stop, see their taxi stand, see their pedistrian pathway. Please stop the stupid changes all the time. We must admit that Singapore's developement are much more better than Malaysia.

By just use less than half of the whole budget to do research, send a few engineer to Singapore to study it within a week or two. Twist a bit of their design and we are there for a new bus stop and taxi stand. We may named as a copy cat but ask ourself, what bus stop we got on this late 20 years? Unreliable, lousy design, high cost, cater for begger to sleep on the seats and etc. Stop spending money to do things that can be copy easily. The economy now is not so good at this present moment especially the US AIG and Lehman crisis.

Dear Ministry, think again before you act. There are many much positive way to tackle this changes other than budgeting for research. Please look into it!

The following notification error message “This copy of Windows is not genuine” and the nicely said “You may be a victim of software counterfeiting” message on the bottom right corner of log-in screen. =)..(smiling...)

I ask him whether he had updated something before this and he said yes. That is the problem. He is using the pirate version of window but tring to update with the Microsoft.

It is normal to use the pirate one because you will need to spend an extra RM2++ to RM3++ to get the genuine version. But, never update the windows although a pop up message keep appear asking you to update.

I said to him not to worry because it will not give anything effect. Just the message keep appear on the screen. Whether he get a genuine one, or consult with computer technician or eliminate the message by his own.

And then I search on Google search engine and got this website. There are 6 method to eliminate the message. The method is just for learning purpose and the risk is on the user's hand...

This week is unlucky weeks for my roommate. Why?? It was ashamed story to share, but it was interesting story t share with. Actually my roommate had infected by chicken pox diseases. Maybe, this is terrible week for him. Don’t worry, I will not be infected by this disease twice because I already infected during my secondary school. I already had an antibody in my body to curve this disease. Then, I was searching information about dermatology to know more about chicken pox. Chicken pox is a highly contagious viral infection caused by the vermicelli virus. The word chickenpox comes from the Old English word "gican" meaning "to itch" or from the Old French word "chiche-pois" for chickpea, a description of the size of the lesion. It causes typical viral symptoms like fever, fatigue, joint pains, headache, and swollen glands. These symptoms usually resolve by the time the rash develops. Articles that I had read give me a new knowledge and could help my roommate to understand his condition.

Fasting month was not complete if there was no firecracker. Although it makes uncomfortable sound, its dig up our childhood memory. However Malaysia government already banned the firecrackers. So it was very hard to get firecrackers right now. A firecracker is a small explosive device primarily designed to produce a large amount of noise, especially in the form of a loud bang; any visual effect is incidental to this goal. They have fuses, and are wrapped in heavy paper casing, to contain the explosive compound. Firecrackers, along with fireworks are now thought to have originated in China. I still remember the sweet memory during playing firecrackers with my siblings and cousins. We were not thinking about our safety and only want to enjoy ourselves. Luckily there was no terrible incident happen while playing firecrackers. So, my advices to the people who wants to play firecrackers, you should consider safety first..

It is usual whenever a celebration or festival happen, people will take leave and go for a travel. Whether going for a holiday with family or going back to their hometown. As the Hari Raya celebration left, the Deepavali celebration will come for this year of 2008.

What I want to share is not about the celebration, but about accident. Especially road accident. Let us read from this website. The number of accident will increase when the celebration period.

From my experience and knowledge from my reading, usually the accident happen because there are two vehicles that collide face to face. The rest because of technical problem on the vehicle or the condition of the road.

So, I want to ask whether anyone can give oppinion on how to reduce the accident...It is okay if the oppinion seems very weird and imposible..

I heard a story from my lecturer that his student give 2 ideas that make all student in the class laughing.
1. Make the driver's seat behind and the passenger in front. So that the driver will think about their kids whenever he wants to overtake in dangerous situation.
2. Usualy the victims hurt due to the steel from the part of the vehicle attack them. As a solution, make the vehicle from rubber, so that it will bounce whenever a collision happen.Hence, it also can build up our rubber sector...hehehe

Think the more serious solution...=)

HOW TO BE A HARD WORKER..
Throughout life you must be hardworking. It is just a part of life that you can't get around. When applying for a job, you need to show that you are a hard worker. This step will guide you into being hardworking..
1. Start in your childhood. This is a big part of learning to be a hard worker. If you start early, you will learn more about this skill and get better at it.
2. Ask to help. Ask others if they could use your help. By doing this, people will recognize you more as a helper. When you help them, work as hard as you can.
3. Don't be selfish. If you are too selfish, you won't be as hardworking. You always need to think of others when you are working.
4. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again! You should always persevere. Do not ever give up, because this is a big part of being hardworking. Hard workers never give up, and this is what helps build upon the skill.
5. Share your ideas. If you have an idea when working on a project, share it! People that are hardworking contribute to their projects by giving new ideas. Your idea may lead to something incredible, and this will improve others' thoughts of you.
6. Be like other hard workers. There are hardworking people all around us. You should try to act similar to the way they do, because you will learn from them. You can learn from anyone.
7. Once you get it, keep doing it. Once you start working your hardest all the time, keep doing it! You should even try to get better. Learning will always help you, and perseverance will too.
8. Believe in yourself. Know that anyone can be a hard worker!
what you'are waiting for...wake up and be a hard worker start from now..

Eat and stay slim

One can find so many advertisements on slimming just about everywhere. The world is talking about it. With the health problems that come with obesity, there is a real good reason to look within ourselves.

I believe we should be conscious of the food we put into our mouths. Easier said than done. But why are there still so many obese people? Has obesity something to do with genetic inheritance? Maybe, but looking around me, I think environment factors are the cause. We are influenced by our peers, friends and our family in what we eat or not eat.

Malaysians are blessed with many varieties of food and delicacies that come from our multi-cultural background, and it is indeed difficult to resist the temptations at times.

If your body is screaming for teh tarik, most probably there is some health imbalance that causes the cravings. Your craving for roti canai, a refined carb food, may be due to the fact that your blood sugar level is low and is a signal for the body to produce more insulin. Depending on your age, it is advisable to have a yearly medical check up to understand yourself better.

Staying slim or losing unwanted kilos is a serious business and it demands serious attention and effort. If you have a weight issue and a very good reason to lose some, make a decision and commit to a plan. There is no success without a plan and as the saying goes, if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

The truth is we can still live, eat and enjoy food without the many health problems plaguing us in the later part of our life's journey.

But be careful, there are lots of things in your household that contains melamine, and the most common is those "plastic" cups and plates that you eat from almost everyday. They contain melamine. The formica plastic in your kitchen contains melamine and so does the plastic in your fridge.

But don't panic. Melamine is a very hard substance, it can stand reasonably high temperatures and under normal use is very insolvable. The Chinese are actually grinding melamine into a fine powder and mixing that into the milk powder. It is through this that you can ingest enough to make you sick.

Now, this is one thing you have to watch out for. You see all the hawkers using those hard plastic plates. They are made out of melamine. Under normal conditions they do not pose a health threat but melamine becomes soft under high temperatures. Some of it may melt and stick to your food. This is one way you can ingest it.

So if you see your hawker put your food into the microwave to warm it up for you.....beware. If the temperature is high enough some of it may melt.

And when you go to the supermarket you can see kitchen utensil made out of melamine e.g. plastic stirrers and scoops for stirring the wok. For scooping up hot soup, it is ok but for frying things and dipping the utensil in boiling oil is not.
As I said before.....the risk is very small, so there is no reason to panic, just be advised.

I recommend that at home when you warm up your food in the microwave oven use a glass bowl or a China plate. Use wooden or metal stirrers and scoops.

Human nature: thinking

Human are truly a special spesies created. Why? It's because all of us has the sophisicated "brain" to THINK. It's indeed a wonderful thing that God had created! But nowadays, do people really THINK? hmm... it seems seldom isn't?

In the real world as what I had noticed, there are more and more individuals whom are leaving their Great ability of THINKING aside.....How come?! As a university student myself, I felt that education is one of the factors, besides the individual character itself.

Why is this happening ? As most people knows, this generation of students have no choice but to face a big "challenge/goal" that is - Exams. These exams caused majority of our young generation focus almost 100% on STUDY. "Study....study... & study..."

They seems to be trained to memorize books rather than understands and THINK. Slowily they became not creative and with a narrow mind-set. I would give them a nick name of "Exams-robots". Isn't this serius? frightening?! I have no intention to say that we should ban Exams .... But, we have to do the RIGHT things in the RIGHT way!
